I’m disappointed that I’m having to leave this review, but I feel it’s important for others seeking a family lawyer to know about my experience. I hired Heather Dyer for my child custody case, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disheartening and disappointing professional relationships I’ve encountered. Throughout the case, I did not feel supported, guided, or truly advocated for. Communication was minimal and often vague, and I consistently felt left in the dark during critical moments when clarity and reassurance were most needed. It felt as though I was navigating this emotionally taxing situation on my own, despite paying thousands of dollars for legal representation. What was most painful was the lack of fight I saw in her approach. It seemed the priority was not my case, nor my child’s best interest, but rather the billing process. The financial costs mounted quickly, yet the level of service, strategy, and commitment did not reflect the high fees I paid. While I understand that not every case results in a win, I expected my attorney to stand beside me with dedication and transparency. Sadly, I did not experience that with Heather Dyer. I hope this review encourages more thoughtful consideration for others choosing legal counsel during such a sensitive and impactful time in their lives.

I hired them for a Civil Protection Order issue, and the experience was extremely disappointing, to put it lightly. I was suddenly reassigned to a new attorney, when another went on vacation. I was involved with a bait and switch situation. Strategically organized. After a pointless continuance, with little notice and asked to pay a higher retainer. Communication was poor, I was unprepared for court, and my side of the story was not properly presented. Critical evidence was ignored, and I was misled about my "divorce" filing. I had to file. Overall, I felt unsupported, misled, and unprepared during an extremely stressful legal matter.

Sarah Oberer was extremely helpful and empathetic from the moment I called until the end. She made me feel seen and heard, while also being extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She was very thorough with the paperwork and provided excellent advice. I would recommend her again and again. It was a very difficult time to go through, but I am grateful to have had Sarah by my side throughout!
