If I could give zero stars, I would. Hiring O’Neil Dennis was one of the most disappointing professional experiences I’ve ever had. I paid an $8,000 retainer for my divorce case, and in return received a total of maybe three brief meetings, two short court appearances, and almost no communication in between. The case is still unresolved, yet he is now trying to bill me for over $2,000 more — without ever providing an explanation or itemized invoice. I had specifically instructed him not to take any action unless my ex-husband made a move. That was ignored. He did things without my knowledge or consent, and it feels like his priority was depleting my retainer rather than representing my interests. To top it off, he abruptly informed me he would no longer be representing me — with no reason given — and left me to represent myself, despite ongoing health issues that he never even bothered to ask about. In my opinion, this was a textbook case of negligence and possible financial exploitation. I have filed a formal complaint with the California State Bar and would strongly caution anyone against trusting him with your time, money, or peace of mind.
