My first time meeting Mr. Saland I was skeptical, coming from a previous lawyer who judged me from the beginning without even letting me tell my side of the story, assumed that I was guilty. I cannot begin to explain how frightened and scared I was when my husband called me to tell me he had been detained by the police at JFK airport. Not realizing the law in New York and accidentally having taken his firearm with him from Florida on a boat he sailed to NYC for training, TSA stopped him when he put his bag through screening to fly home. He had no intention of hiding anything or breaking the law but the port authority police handcuffed him and took him into custody for what was an honest mistake. Fast forward, my family found Jeremy. He was calm and reassuring during one of the most difficult times in our lives. He explained what he thought would happen and how he would get past the felony charge without serving jail time. He even was able to maintain my husband's clean record, clean! Jeremy never promised a result but he did promise he would work hard. Though he was busy at times he answered all of our questions (sometimes we would tag team with questions) and calmed our nerves. Most importantly, in the end Jeremy delivered just like he said he would. The lesson that is most important is don't forget to take any weapons out of your bag when travelling through the airport (especially in New York!) The penalties are real!!! The second lesson is if you do, consider Jeremy. My family and I are glad that we did!

I am an out of state resident who needed someone who knows the system in and out, and Jeremy is the without a doubt go-to. He is very proper and straightforward and will no doubt achieve the end result. Jeremy is a very very busy man but will get the job done. He genuinely cares and wants the best results. Give him the time and space he needs, (he handles a lot of stuff behind the scenes), when/if he needs you he will let you know, otherwise let him do his thing. There are attorneys and then there is Jeremy Saland. Jeremy became aware of my situation very early on and made contact with the police to discuss an allegation of domestic violence against me. At the time, the police wanted to arrest me and planned on doing so within the next couple of days. Unfortunately, domestic disputes, especially over child custody, can become extremely ugly. Even if an accusation is false, the police must make an arrest. Thankfully, Jeremy took control of my situation and was able to delay my arrest to make sure we were prepared. Far more importantly, after I did turn myself in on the false complaint, Jeremy was ready to speak with prosecutors who, after discussing the evidence with him, declined to prosecute the case. With Jeremy’s effort the charges were thrown out, I was released, and never had to see a judge. There is no doubt Jeremy’s experience as a prosecutor and defense lawyer allows him to get to the most important issues of a case and present a defense in the most compelling way. This is why I hired Jeremy and I'm so glad I did.

I could never have imagined that my special needs son would be arrested and thrust us into into a world we had no idea how to navigate. Thank G-D we were introduced to Jeremy Saland.
