Their phone lines don’t work and cite holiday hours affecting them despite it being February. I’d get that rectified before you get sued.

Called to get information about a legal matter. The person who answered the phone was very rude, short, agitated and told me Legal Aid only deals with family law.

I urge you to carefully consider your options before working with the Indiana Legal Aid Society, particularly the office manager, Lisa Harding, and attorney, Justin Gifford. My personal experience with this organization was incredibly disappointing. Despite the expectation of receiving proper legal assistance and advice, I found the service lacking, and I felt that my concerns were disregarded. Please do your due diligence and research other organizations that genuinely provide help to those in need. There are many legal services out there that truly prioritize the well-being of individuals, and it’s worth finding a group that will work with integrity and respect for their clients.

I’ve tried them twice. Both times they couldn’t help me but help my Ex. It’s not a hard case I need give papers to the judge and ask for a earlier court date. I don’t see the problem. Then they send me papers to file on my own. I already filed on my own. I’m at the end I just want it rushed cause the courts and my ex are wasting my time.

Update 9/12/2023: Paperwork can now be scanned into your individual file. This place offers free legal services for people who have no to low income. Phone lines open at 9:30am. They operate on a first come first served basis by appointment only. After randomly called them, it took me a 2 weeks to get an appointment. I learned that they do not order copies of cases files, so you're need to make sure you bring your own copies. They also don't receive documents via fax or email. So, if you get an appointment, be ready with all the information pertaining to your case and things will work out more efficiently. The office is very clean and only people with appointments will be seen. The building does have full-time law enforcement on duty.

Everyone is friendly, helpful and experienced in legal matters. A place where everyone can seek help if they meet the qualifications for low cost legal help. We the community thanks the Indiana Legal Aid Society especially me in my time of needing legal services. Sincerely, Rosanna Green

Attorney John Stewart was very helpful to me during my telephone interview and consultation. He told me some upsetting facts, but took the time to make sure I understood the next 3 steps I needed to do in order to get a positive resolution to my dilemma. Thank you John!
