My fiancé and I recently had to evict a problematic Section 8 tenant for non-payment of rent. The property is located in a section of Albuquerque called the "War Zone". We are located in Arizona and were unable to travel, so we needed a landlord/tenant attorney well versed in the New Mexico Uniform Owner Resident Relations Act. Scouring the internet for days, we were unable to find a single practicing landlord/tenant attorney that we felt comfortable with. Although based in Santa Fe, Rob was able to file paperwork remotely and emailed us copies of everything. He appeared in court via zoom (even though he was recovering from Covid). Mr. Richards was very involved with our case. My wife and I had hired a different attorney which cared more about collecting money from us than investigating our case. Robert Richards won my case. I came to Robert for advice because I was in the process of purchasing a multi-unit property when my financing fell through and the seller initially refused to return my earnest money. Both of the realtors involved seemed unsure of where the money should go, so the seller offered to split the earnest money in half.
