Ward and Smith, P.A.

I was under the impression that this was a highly rated and respected attorney’s office, so I set up an appointment. Underwhelming is not a word I can use in my case because of the volume of lack of care that marks my experience. First, I was not given the appropriate time for my appointment and had to wait for ten minutes for the office staff to sort it out. During that time, I noticed that my email confirmation stated it was set for 1 AM. I was never given an explanation, nor an apology for the mishap. In fact, explanations and apologies are not part of this company’s practice. There were many points during my interactions with them that they dropped the ball, but not once did they defer to offer me either. The secretary failed to send my documents to the attorney and the attorney I consulted, Albert Clyburn, had no idea of the purpose of my appointment. They essentially wasted my time because I was a work-in. I wasn’t given the attention I deserved and paid $500 for the privilege, rather than have them reschedule me which would have been the appropriate thing to do. I requested a partial refund because my consultation was aimless, with the dreaded clock watching to ensure that I had been given my "time." I explained my situation to the practice administrative services manager, requesting a partial refund of their exorbitant fee. I heard nothing. In fact, my email appeared unread because, apparently, they use read notification blockers on their site, which I view as another manner of absconding accountability. Instead, I received a notification from Facebook that someone had viewed my profile within a day of me sending that email. It was the secretary who handled my appointment. As an additional note, my Facebook account does not use my current name, so there is no way she could’ve searched for and found me, except via my email, which she has on record. This points to a deliberate search of my profile on the platform. My appointment was in April. I sent the email in July. I have heard nothing. It is now September. That is all.

We are located in Myrtle Beach and due to a life altering accident in NC we got in touch with Ward and Smith’s Wilmington office. We were so blessed to work with Jeremy and his staff. They always we very compassionate and caring. If we couldn’t get to them, they came to the house, an hr and 40 minutes from their office. We were kept in the loop though every step and when snags came up they were handled quickly and professionally.

Working with Jeremy made my experience go much easier. He was very honest with me and dealt with my frustrations with the legal system with such understanding. We made a good team dealing with the insurance companies in my case. I feel I got a fair settlement by using Jeremy Wilson I highly recommend

The staff at Ward and Smith are personable and dedicated to their clients. They are willing to assist with the process at every level. I would highly recommend them. They will make you feel valued and comfortable with the steps and work diligently for a positive outcome.

Do not recommend this law firm! They billed us over $8000 on a review of an agreement. There was no hourly detail on the invoice. When we complained about the invoice amount they agreed to give us a $1500 refund on the invoice and then a Senior Partner reneged on the deal. Bottom line you cannot trust what they commit to!

I can't say enough good things about Ward and Smith. Their staff go above and beyond to meet their clients needs. I never had a hard time getting my questions answered or things figured out in my case. They took the time to make sure I was well taken care of and looked out for my best interest. Highly recommend.
