THIS GUY STILL PRACTICES LAW!!! Not Good! I was looking for a family law attorney & came across Sutherland in the Anchorage Bar Association. Jody is a crook! Stay away! I used him years ago for family law, paid him a whole retainer & he only did a few hours work & THE DAY OF MY COURT TRIAL HE DIDNT SHOW UP, I CALLED HIM & HE SAID HE WAS IN THE CARIBBEAN ON VACATION AFTER HE TOLD ME HE WAS GOING TO BE AT Court w/me. His excuse was he used all my funds w/o telling me. He got paid a whole retainer & didnt do any work(just a little). JODY SUTHERLAND IS A BAD LAWYER & A BAD GUY! STAY AWAY!!

Jody talked to by husband for 15 minutes, billed our legal trust for 2.4 hours or $600 and blew us off for 2 mo. promising every two weeks to have something for us. Once we complained, he suddenly had an opening to discuss further. We said no thanks as we seems to be of little concern to him but please send the work you have done and we have paid for and I sure hope it is worth $600 (but I suspect not). I hope to come back and confirm later. After 2 months of waiting you would expect the full probate package but when asked he said... no, just 2 basic wills forms for which this afternoons meeting would help flush out. OMG. What a colossal waste of time along with a pile of lame excuses. Person answering phone is only a service and cannot even take a message, can only send you to voicemail, so why bother. Super disappointed in his non service, don't waste your time too.
