I would highly recommend Sam if you're looking for a family law attorney. He has done everything that he said he would do. He answers the phone when I call. He responds to my emails in a timely fashion. He has made a very difficult family situation for me as seamless as anyone could possibly do. I find him to be reliable and dependable. I feel like his prices are fair. He has treated me with respect. He is literally the first attorney that I have ever dealt with or worked for that I actually like. Sam has changed my mind about attorneys, in general. I hope I never need another family attorney again in my life, but if I do, I will hire him again. He gave me sound advice. He didn't play with the retainer fee. He keeps in close contact. He has been friendly but firm with me. He's everything that you would hope to find in an attorney.

Great if you want high conflict, settle at all costs mediation. Some of the information was never even relayed to the other party. Sam’s goal is to get a signed settlement and he will say whatever he needs to say to get that. He maintains a spreadsheet of the financials that he will not share with you during the process. In my case, a critical number that was clearly provided and discussed was somehow changed during the course of the mediation. He tried to blame us by saying that was the number we gave him for the mortgage amount but that was completely untrue. It created a discrepancy that ended up costing me about $15k minimum. I strongly recommend finding someone who will work collaboratively to get to a result that best for the family as a whole and not someone who just wants to get a signature on papers and move on.

Sam did an excellent job representing my family after Hurricane Harvey. He was honest, prompt, fair, and reasonable with every aspect of our case. I appreciated his common sense approach to things that had a way of working through our emotions to get to the facts at hand. I found Veenstra law firm through a google search, the law firm was located close to my home. I spoke to Sam approximately 7 months prior to using his law firm, but he still remembered our conversation, Once I made the decision to sign the contract and agreed to the cost for his services, I prepared myself for a long drawn out costly back and forth in this divorce.(which never happened, just simply signed paperwork using Email and DocuSign), I am seeing two other friends going through the same situation, using different law firms, and at a cost that totally shocked me, (3-4-X) the cost. With Veenstra law firm the cost was within my affordability, and the time between signing the contract and the day of the final divorce decree was made official. Was in the same year that I made the initial call to the law firm.
