I hired Brian to help me with my bankruptcy, everything went smoothly until after… All my paperwork was correct and Brian attended my court hearing with me, but once my bankruptcy was completed Brian really dropped the ball… He did not file the reaffirmation agreement for my vehicle loan in time and the court closed my case. Brian told me I had to pay him again to re-file the paperwork and open the court case. I don’t think he handled my case in a competent manner and his communication was not very good. I interviewed with other attorneys prior to hiring Brian, I performed due diligence to ensure I was making an informed decision but he did not handle my case in the way he promised.

I worked with Brian for a long time regarding my bankruptcy filing. He was well aware of my financial situation which prevented me from finalizing payment. During the lengthy delay while I tried to scrounge up the fees, his fees increased by nearly double since I first engaged with him, which delayed me further. When I finally had the income to pay his fees now he won’t guarantee that it will be filled in time for my filing needs (as I will be priced out of chapter 7 soon). It’s been months since I have spoke to him, I have been dealing with his office staff, who also knows my financial situation. They now are telling me they could have started the paperwork months ago had I made a deposit before. They offered a payment plan in the past but only told me that they would only file once fully paid, never that they would start the paperwork which I readily would have done. In the end I complained that they should have better communicated this and asked to speak to the attorney directly, instead he didn’t return my call (again haven’t talked to him in months), he emailed me that he would not make any assurances of my filing timeframe and fired me as a client. Wasted many months of my time and planning and wouldn’t even speak to me to sort out the mess his office staff created. One phone call to another attorney and issue is resolved, they said this is easy and can make an immediate emergency filing on my behalf. Thanks for helping me dodge a bullet by ending our work!
