Best & Flanagan LLP

Made the mistake of hiring Joe LaFave to handle my handicapped father's trust. He and his associates then racked up ridiculous amounts of money for things they couldn't account for when confronted. They thought my siblings and I were too lazy to read their ridiculous billings for what was supposed to be a straightforwards stewardship. Fired him and his useless associates within a year and wish we could sue them but it's too expensive. Checked with other families in the area and these guys have a terrible rep. Nickname is "Worst and Flanagan."

Excellent experience with Charles C. Berquist at Best & Flanagan. I was referred by a close friend who has been working with Charlie as a client for over 20 years. The good folks at Best & Flanagan made the legal process of filing the correct paperwork with the state of Minnesota pertaining to an LLC easy. Gives me peace of mind that everything is filed correctly. I found Charlie easy to talk to and open to any and all questions. In my interactions with the folks at Best & Flanagan I found them all personable, professional and prompt in addressing my needs. I strongly recommend Charlie Berquist and Best and Flanagan.

These are the types of lawyers people constantly ridicule. Charged me an outrageous amount to handle a family matter. I agreed to pay on the condition certain deliverables were met. Explicitly told them that no more money would paid unless the milestones were met. They agreed and took my money and disappeared. No milestone achieved and now I receive random invoices from them. I could have burned all that money in my backyard and the outcome would have been the same.

Do not hire this law firm unless you are very wealthy. I hired Chris Johnson, one of their attorneys, during a time of crisis to handle a divorce. Chris took advantage of me and charged me an outrageous amount for what was not a complex case. When I tried to negotiate late in the process, he sued me to get an addional $15,000 (believe it or not, that was not much compared to the total sum). That's right, my attorney sued me because the huge amount I already paid was not enough. I highly recommend seeking counsel elsewhere, unless you can afford it.

Only interested in billable hours. Unprepared and unhelpful. Stay clear of this lot.
