I was referred to Corsaut Law through the state for legal services and worked with them on a dispute involving a property manager from Recovery Realty. While the issue ultimately did not result in any damages (the defamation claim was not proven), I was charged $500 for preparation related to that matter. I handled much of the work myself and felt that the firm’s preparation could have been more thorough, and communication could have been clearer. Before they took on my first case, I had expressed that I was looking for a lawyer who could handle both this matter and a larger follow-up civil case. I was supposed to receive a free consultation for the second matter as part of the referral, but after updating the firm on the outcome of the first case, I was told they were too busy to take it on. This was frustrating, as I had hoped to continue with the same firm, already familiar with the facts, rather than starting over with a new lawyer. Overall, while the firm assisted with the first case, my experience with the follow-up consultation left me frustrated and in a difficult position.
