We were very excited after our initial free consult with Jason. We told him that we were on a budget and he assured us that he would go to a contingent model if our claim was denied. He said that they normally didn’t do contingency but was sure we could win the case. He continued to bill us for waiting to hear about the claim. Once the claim was denied, Jason said that he would not provide us contingent representation that he initially promised. We could’ve filed the claim ourselves and saved us $20,000 which we could have used for our property taxes and saving our dog when we took her to the emergency vet

Although I’m unable to officially move forward with Mr. Estavillo, he gave me very valuable and honest information during our consultation. It’s very easy to tell when someone just wants your money or when they just want to push you off of the phone; and I didn’t get either of those feelings. I only had a consultation, but I really appreciated the level of honesty. Mr. Estavillo said I could retain him and potentially make back his fees, but I'm better off just writing a demand letter and trying small claims court if that doesn't work. I think it takes a lot of integrity to say "look, you don't actually need to give me money."
