I was in a two-year toxic and abusive relationship with my ex-boyfriend. I’ll admit, I wasn’t perfect in the situation either, but as things fell apart, I found myself at risk of losing my 5 month old son. I used Julie a few years ago to handle my divorce. I had been married for over 25 years, and in the course of finding her had consulted with about 6 other divorce/family law attorneys. I felt like the feedback that I was getting from the other attorneys was suspect, and even in some cases designed to drive up their fees. I spent an entire week in choosing a lawyer for my situation. I even paid two firms for phone consultations in making sure I made the best decision. Julie was hired to be our mediator and arbitrator for a VERY high conflict divorce and child custody case. Julie got done what we couldn't get done for more than 2 years with a very difficult opposing party. She made the process smooth and handled the most complicated case probably to ever come across denton county family court. We owe her for helping navigate this very messy, and long, drawn out divorce. She is professional, commutative, and by far one of the BEST mediators/arbitrators and attorneys. The attorney, Julie Lucio and her paralegal did not have time for my case and constantly made up excuses as to why. They handed me my discovery a week after it was served, Julie over billed, never actually spoke with me on matters related to how I would like to proceed with my case, she billed me for time it took to train her paralegal, she refused to speak with me on the invoice. I thought I was making a good choice going with them but turns out it was not and a huge huge waste of money went down the drain. I switched attorneys and it was a night and day difference. I cannot recommend.
