Dishonest and judgmental I highly suggest finding someone else. Be prepared to be thrown under the bus. I haven't looked at this review in four years. She is denying I was ever her client after TWO court dates with her here in Amarillo! Do NOT hire this woman.

Do not hire this attorney! Absolute worst representation possible. I worked as a paralegal for 12 years so I know what to expect. She never responded to anything in a timely manner, and missed several deadlines. If my EX wasn't calling me asking me why I wasn't responding, I would not have ever known I was missing deadlines. She had my final decree for 3 weeks, never forwarded it to me, to review and sign, so we missed our final hearing date! She would not take my phone calls and would not communicate with me. I would send her numerous emails and she wouldn't respond. She finally called me when I refused to pay her! My case was not a difficult case and she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I would have been better off saving my money and representing myself.

Janis was amazing for our family! She was always kind and patient, even when we were going crazy. She and her staff kept us steady and confident! Through our ordeal, due to her and her teams care, we feel like we not only gained an ally, but a family!

Just called and the receptionist was very rude. At first she could not hear which is understandable. Then she said she could hear me. Yet...she hung up on me. So I called back. Again the lady could not hear me. After I asked her if I was a bother to her by the sound of her tone. She responded I can hear you. Then I explained how our previous call had played out with her hanging up on me. She then responded in a rude attitude how if she says she can hear me that means she can hear me. So...why did she hang up on me??? I told her she was unprofessional and decided to warn others by making this review.

Janis Alexander Cross is Outstanding ! She listened to what we wanted and went way beyond to make sure it was done . The ladies in the office are pretty awesome too ! So if your looking for a amazing attorney give her a call, you will be glad you did !

She is too busy with too many cases to focus on just one case for the time being. It’s been months since we went to court and I’ve yet to see a court order. Communicating with her is also hard. Sometimes she will respond via email, but you can call the office and she is never there and won’t return phone calls. I had a bad Experiance with her. I feel like she was helping the other person in my case. Mind you this was a custody and child support case. I feel like my case was neglected and she didn’t work for me. She worked against me. Oh it’s December 13th today and we went to court July 5th. I have yet to see any child support. And I was told if I wanted child support from the day he was ordered to pay child support on July 5th that I had to pay 3500$ to file an enforcement. Even though we went to court to get child support and custody. So yes, janis says "I got you a significant amount of child support" yet I haven’t seen a dime, and I have NO court order FIVE months later.

I just called, Im ready to pay for a lawyer but had a few questions I wanted answered first so that I'm able to choose the right one for my case. I was told I need to pay 150 upfront to ask anything! I'm calling a couple of lawyers first before I make my decision. I want to know ratings ect. I asked the lady who answered and she almost seemed like she didn't know what I meant about her reviews with child support court. All she kept getting at was the $150. If only a few answers would have been given to me so I could feel confident and trusting in the person I am thinking about hiring. I would of gladly paid but it seemed the lady who answered the phone wasn't aware and didn't know or want to answer me at all. I understand you can't just get stuff for free but 3 questions maybe 4 just to give me an idea of what type of person she is shouldn't have to be charged. For this type of case we are putting not me but my children in someone else's hands and if they can't answer one question without $150 then it's about just money not taking the time to know and understand someones life and defend it. To me that makes it to where as long as your paid win or lose it doesn't matter. I'm not willing to take that risk.
