My experience working with Nanette McCarthy and Molly Schiller at GMR was very positive. At the outset I was given a clear understanding of the divorce process; issues likely to arise in my case; and how billing would be handled. As a result there were few if any surprises throughout the process. I reviewed the billing statements each month and was very comfortable discussing any concerns, which rarely happened. I always felt that the firm had my best interests in mind and that the quality of the advice I received was excellent. The end result was consistent with what I had been told to expect. I highly recommend this firm.

Nanette McCarthy & her legal team were very professional for the divorce. Great communication especially efficient via email which helped me keep my legal costs reasonable. I was also going thru health issues which took priority over the divorce. Thus, the team was very understanding and flexible to my needs. They kept my required needs in mind thru the process.

From intake to resolution, GMR was professional, level-headed, equitable, & a diplomatically-fierce advocate for me & child. Cannot say enough good about this firm. I could sleep at night (sometimes only) because I knew Nanette, Molly, and a Higher Power fully had me in their competent hands. While the system is fraught with frustrations, inconsistencies and slowdowns, GMR did their best to provide context, head off troubles, and be empathetic. They know the space, the people, the power dynamics, and the strategy to navigate the courts for the betterment of families & children. At no point did they contribute to our already-fragmenting family; instead, they sought the betterment of all. This set them apart.

If you are searching for a family law attorney that builds drama and riles up your emotions to enable the transfer of your assests into their legal fees, then pass on this attorney and hire one of the other 95% of divorce attorneys that operate in that fashion. Nanette McCarthy takes a direct no-nonsense approach to working on solutions. I endured the unfortunate experience of working with at least three other "family law" firms, including firms claiming they "specialized " in father's divorce. If you want a solutions approach, hire Nanette. On the otherhand, If you'd perfer to spend years destroying your relationship with your children, and handover your 401k to the attorneys of both sides, then hire one of the other bottom feeders drueling to take your case!

Their consultations are $250 (laughable). They schedule consultations before people pay them so they're using it as an instrument to discriminate against poor people. Their scheduling person proposed a day for the consultation and I requested the next week instead to wait for liquidation of assets to complete, then Saundra Rice responded abruptly saying she couldn't "accommodate" a schedule I didn't commit to. Either using it as a tool or doesn't want to be the last in line of lawyers who give free consultations. Way to reinforce stereotypes about lawyers!

My experience with GMR was as good as it could be given the unpleasant circumstances which brought me to them. They were kind, knowledgable, and provided excellent counsel. I recommend them often to friends who are in need of legal advice.
