Legal Aid Society-Evansville

I was a client of Adam maday he gave me bogus instructions as my lawyer I follow his lead end up homeless for nothing I can't believe that I didn't owe anyone nothing and I didn't go to court due to his advice whatever you do do not get him as a lawyer if you have to go through legal aid please request someone else 😭😭😭 I probably never would have got evicted if I had appeared in court and had not a listen to him I had so much evidence against these people of Dale Haven for saying I was on HUD and rejected my rent and terminated my lease and told me to leave if I had to presented that in court and not listening to my lawyer from legal way I probably would still have my apartment!!!!

Will use them from now on. They were kind and very proficient in their jobs. A little bit of a wait but they moved quickly.

It is a nice area, somewhat friendly, but not rude. They do need to keep in mind that some people that come in office are new to these types of assistance and don't understand everthing or the system process. Although it may be mundane and or tedious to the employees, some of us asking for help feel overwhelmed and confused and really need a friendly face and some direction.

I was in need of a family attorney for an emergency custody situation so I called the Legal Aid Society. I was told to put in an application and we would go from there. I explained the situation and was approved within a couple of days. I'll be honest: I didn't expect much-I mean, it's a free attorney. Not only is the attorney, Adam Maday, one of the most competent, knowledgeable, and empathetic attorneys I've ever encountered- the entire office and all of his colleagues, including the Program Director, all tagged me with respect, warmth, and without judgment. They treated my case worth urgency and importance, fought for me and my daughter, and the communication was phenomenal! I also appreciate their ethics- if there is a case involving an opposing side who is also seeking legal assistance, they will only represent one, not work for both. I recommend them and their services to anyone needing legal help and remind them that not to allow their preconceived biases be the catalyst behind their stereotypes and judgemental. These guys deserve 10 stars!

Tanesha was handling my case and not only did she drop my case last minute, she didn’t do half of the stuff she was supposed to be doing with my case. I found out after three months subpoenas weren’t sent out, paperwork wasn’t filed that should have been filed— I should have been representing myself this entire time because the services were basically useless and she didn’t do anything besides have a smart mouth. Would not recommend.

Sure they are great BECAUSE they are free of charge to people at no cost at all to them. There should be some charge like $100. So people will be less likely to ABUSE the Legal system like some are doing here in Evansville for sure. The Courts are overwhelmed and over booked the way it is already.
