My husband and I owned a timeshare that worked well for us for more than 20 years, but because of aging and health issues, we have been unable to use it recently. So we began conversations with the resort about an exit strategy. The resort made an extremely high offer, which we refused, and after several months of going back and forth, and the exit cost decreasing a bit, we finally made what we thought was a reasonable counteroffer.
