Throughout the divorce process -- and even when I imagined it would finally come to an end -- I truly wanted to feel gratitude toward Attorney Benjamin. But unfortunately, that's not how things turned out. Now, my heart is filled with anxiety and anger toward him and his divorce law firm. For months, I received no updates -- not from the court, nor from Attorney Benjamin. Despite sending numerous emails, his occasional replies always said the same thing: that we were simply waiting for the court's judgment. I waited and waited, but nothing changed. Eventually, when I reached out to the court directly, I was shocked to learn that they had never received the necessary documents from Benjamin, and that my case had not progressed at all. When I confronted Benjamin about it, he simply said he would resend the files to the court -- without offering any real apology. He told me that things like this happen sometimes, as if it were nothing unusual. After that, I requested an official document from the court confirming that the case was in progress. However, I have not received any reply from Benjamin since then. So called to the court directly again and I found out that he submitted documents incorrectly again…. I never thought such a situation could happen, nor that I would be treated in this way. I had placed my full trust in him when I asked for his help with my divorce. Now, I am deeply uncertain about what the best next step should be. I never wanted to write a negative review -- I had hoped to simply say "thank you" at the end of it all. But I am sharing my experience here, hoping that no one else will have to go through the same kind of disappointment and distress.

I rarely leave reviews, but Ben did such a fantastic job that I wanted to do so here. I stumbled across his firm after seeing a reddit post recommending prenup lawyers in CA and from beginning to end he was phenomenal – very patient, answered my questions clearly with excellent reasoning, responsive, and a pleasure to interact with. I’m also a lawyer so was doing my own separate research and reading the relevant statutes/case law, and everything he said was spot on. I mention this because it can be hard for regular people to evaluate the quality of legal representation they are receiving (it’s unfortunate, but people can end up paying a lot for poor legal representation – I don’t worry about that happening with Ben). I thought so highly of Ben that I have and will continue to recommend him to any of my friends that want a prenup in CA (one of them also ended up hiring him - note that you don't need to be local to hire him) and I’d trust him in other legal matters as well.

I appreciate Benjamin's professional help for my divorce case. Unlike other lawyers who always requires a consulting fee before the contract, Ben helped me to analyze my case for around 1 hour and tell me all of the possible solutions and the estimated cost. This process eased me a lot and I started to feel that my case is not that bad. Ben was constantly professional during the whole process, he helped me to find the best solution and told me all of the things that I will need to pay attention to. The case was ended smoothly and the total cost is ~$4000, which is a really fair price in my understanding. I believe most of people will be really vulnerable during this kind of "the most stressful thing" in their lives and always try to inquire the updates. Sometimes Ben will ignore client's email/text message, in my understanding it is because the client will need to pay for any emails/text that lawyer replies, so Ben will not reply them just to ease client's concern, and he will only provide client a update when it is necessary. Last but not least, I can claim that Ben is trustworthy and professional to solve client's problem, I strongly recommend him.

Benjamin was a solid legal advisor to me. And now we are happy. My two boys, my ex-wife and I… we are in a positive place now building our futures independently and collaboratively. A divorce doesn’t have to end ugly. It can result in a reconfigured relationship standing on foundation of collaboration, trust and respect. Benjamin was very accessible with fast response time. This is not a common case with other attorneys. They can have you hanging, waiting, and guessing in anxiety. Ben was always very responsible even when he was traveling out of the country. I had multiple channels to get in touch with him and he responded always within 24 hours, and mostly much faster. 2. RESPONSIBLE and RELIABLE. His work was very solid. No sloppy guess works or vague advises. He kept his promises. He provided sound legal advice based on the law and based on real cases and precedence. There were no false promises or providing false hope. He was realistic, ethical and objective. 3. RESOLUTION-ORIENTED. He is an attorney that wants his clients’ cases to "resolve." Some attorneys are very much interested in complicating the case and prolonging the case to increase billing hours and legal expenses. Benjamin doesn’t play that game. He focuses on practical matters to resolve conflicts and pursues a win-win. 4. RESPECTFUL of LEGAL COST. He kept me updated on the legal cost so that there are no surprises. I really appreciated this about him. At one time, I was asking a bunch of unnecessary questions out of curiosity - and taking up a lot of his time. Although he was happy to answer all my email questions, he also advised that the retainer can be spent more towards resolving the case. It was wiser to have him spend hours constructing strategies and options for my case vs. answering my "curiosity" questions I can Google. He is fair, transparent, honest and respectful when it comes to legal fees. 5. AUTHENTIC and a GOOD PERSON. I found Benjamin to be very mission oriented and passionate about family law. This is reflected in his company (Wellness Divorce) website but I got to experience it first hand. He believes that a divorce doesn’t have to be a "broken failure" or a destructive battle. Benjamin has the mature spirit that knows a well-managed divorce process can enable and facilitate happiness on stronger grounds. He cares about what he does. And that was very important to me. When I was looking for an attorney, I didn’t know what to do and what I was doing. I heard back from many lawyers who wanted my "business" but really didn’t care about the details or intentions. They over-promised results with false promises. I also didn’t hear back from many legal firms because they smelled it wasn’t going to be a high-cost $$ case. Then, I found Benjamin Lee on Yelp on some random luck. I messaged him and he got back to me that day while he was on his vacation… in a different country, and in a different time zone. He asked the right questions. He provided the information I needed, and empowered me to make the decision. Fast forward, I am now divorced. I am happily in a new relationship. I am happily in a great relationship with my kids growing up with health, happiness, and confidence. I am in a positive relationship with my ex-wife, as her advocate, as a collaborative partner/co-parent, and as her friend. The process of getting a divorce is grueling - I called so many diff attorneys/mediators and most of them start with telling me I only have 15mins to ask questions and if it is more, I will have to pay. I had a woman who literally interrupted me and said that I have to make a formal appointment in order to answer some questions. It was very discouraging, especially going through the process of getting a divorce during a pandemic. On top of this, these attorneys will say whatever it is that you wanted to hear in order for them to milk money out of you. I was basically getting different answers depending on the time of day and who picked up the phone. I reached out to Wellness Divorce through a referral and I got a consultation with Benjamin Lee and it was so refreshing to get actual caring professional advice. He never once rushed me, didn't bring up money/time (unless I asked), and was happy to explain divorce terminology and was super patient. He wasn't giving me the standard "oh yes, he might be able to take your house...etc" he was giving me answers that were supported according to state laws, and that's when I know he is a professional.
