I had a very poor experience with Sean in a domestic violence case. He used an aggressive courtroom style that was not appropriate for a sensitive matter and did not go over well with the judge. He arrived late to a hearing, raised his voice in court, appeared antagonistic, and did not adapt his tone to the courtroom. He also treated witnesses in a manner that came across as disrespectful, which visibly upset the judge. Despite my objections and concerns about strategy, he insisted on pursuing an aggressive approach and assured me it would succeed. It did not. I found him disorganized and dismissive of my input as the client. The overall presentation did not sit well with the judge, and I believe it directly affected the outcome of my case. I am sharing this so others—especially clients in sensitive matters like domestic violence cases—can make an informed decision and consider whether a confrontational courtroom style is appropriate for their situation.

I had a very disappointing experience with this attorney due to consistently poor service. His memory was unreliable, and he was highly disorganized. On multiple occasions, his laptop was not working, his internet was down, or he claimed his computer was hacked. If you have an important trial, be prepared for potential technical issues that may disrupt your case. In my experience, he repeatedly forgot to send me critical documents. Even leading up to a very important trial, I had to email him several times asking about a case that had been filed with the court, yet he never responded. It wasn’t until the next court session—when the opposing party referenced it—that I became certain something had been filed. When I confronted him about it, he casually admitted that he had forgotten to forward it to me. While it may have been a simple oversight for him, it was a serious issue for me. Additionally, expect to handle a lot of the case preparation yourself. I had to organize binders and other materials on my own, rather than focusing on trial preparation. If you’re looking for thorough and proactive legal representation, I would strongly advise considering other options.

I cannot say enough positive things about Sean Onderick, who is an attorney I will always call first when my interest or rights have been threatened by another party.
