Kathy and Currie are simply amazing. After a very rough start with another Raleigh attorney, I was left hopeless and mentally drained. I hesitantly reached out to Fresh Start Family Law - expecting a similar level of service to the last attorney, and I was pleasantly surprised! Our initial meeting was just a few days later and they didnt just sit there and listen to me, they asked relevant questions, requested documentation, and were honest about what I should expect. Immediately they got to work and started making dents in my custody case; they did more in the first 2 weeks than had been done in the previous 4 months. No joke. Both Kathy and Currie are highly responsive and so so knowledgable. Being an anxious person, I always had questions... they always had answers. Fast forward a few months, and my case closed 2 days ago. Exactly 2 years after it started, but only 5 months since I retained their law firm to work on this case. A few things I think should be noted, because if you're reading this, you're obviously looking for an attorney and I felt these were the most standout things I experienced with FSFL: --There was NO frivolous billing charges, it was always a very fair bill and they spent my money wisely. (Thank you so much for that btw.) --They occasionally worked after hours and I even had responses from them on weekends when I sent an email that was more emergent - no waiting around for days to qualm my anxiety. --They showed up. Not just physically; they were mentally prepared for my trials and helped prepare me. She left personal life at the court house door and does not skip a beat when it comes to her job. --They both are kind. Badass, for sure. But they always had words of encouragement and support. ****Best of all - they were my champions. They heard me and backed me 100%. I never worried about them backing down to OC - Kathy always fought on my side. The words "thank you" could never be enough for all their hard work. I highly suggest them to any parent that is just getting bullied around the judicial system and from opposing counsel. She will do everything she can to help you achieve the best possible outcome for your situation

I have used Kathy Lucas in the past. And know Catherhine Bailey. Both ladies are very pleasant to deal with and I can only imagine they work well together. When Kathy was helping me; she was always very attentive, and straight forward. Always great counsel on a personal and professional (legal knowledge) level. Any Family Law Attorney worth their salt should and she did; keep the client from being too petty in their emotional handling of the rough waters of their separation and divorce proceedings. I had my first meeting with Catherine in late March for her to help me draft some paperwork. I could not get a hold of her for months after 5-6 email and phone calls- all I wanted was an update on when the paperwork would be drafted. Simple! but not for this place .... even the front desk assistant wasn't able to get a response on timeline from her. I have cancelled my agreement after over 2 months of waiting- and guess what, No Response or Confirmation from them. I have never dealt with any one like this. Completely professional and disrespectful. If you don't have time for new clients, please stop taking in new clients. My time is valuable just like yours.
