Carolyn Dahlberg was extremely helpful throughout my traffic matter and was able to get me the results that I wanted in the end! She gave me great advice and handled my situation with care. I appreciated all her efforts in the entire process and would highly recommend this firm.

I had an appointment on the 4th of December, the para legal call me on the 3rd to tell me that the appointment I had at 4:pm can I do it now on change it for the next day. I told her that the appointment is set for the 4th, not today. She came back and said that she had it for day the 3rd. So check her calendar and said the 4th at 4 pm will do just fine. Now, on the 4th, there is no call from her to start the concentration we want. I'm very disappointed that there is no call from the law firm as of today at 1:10 pm on the 5th.

I was placed with Phillip Lecky. Bless his heart he is very sweet, however; he is not an effective communicator at all. He is very nervous in court to the point he stumbles constantly on his words. No organization what so ever. I had a custody battle which I presented to my attorney ample reasoning why I should have sole custody. I started out with joint where I had primary physical and shared legal of my Infant son. When the final verdict came I ended up getting shared custody. It was very embarrassing to hear the judge get annoyed and impatient with Mr. Lecky. This place was recommended to me but I am saying go somewhere else hell I could of represented myself better than this individual.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! I hired Amanda Lewis for my son seeking custody of his daughter. Had an initial one hour free consult where we both spoke w/Amanda at length and made it very clear Full Custody was our only goal and the reason she was hired. My son already had a visitation order in place that had been violated by the custodial parent multiple times. He saw his daughter only six days out of 365 last year and not at all this year. Despite the order granting him well more visits and a consecutive 30 days which was never received as well. The paternal family has not seen the child either. Show Cause orders were filed by my son. Despite the strength of my son's case, because there are other factors I can't disclose as it is still an open case, Amanda constantly tried to convince him to accept a settlement from the opposing counsel for visitation! There was NO fight in her to support his desire and direction and she constantly billed him for excessive conversations w/opposing counsel. We paid $3100 and were billed an additional $1k and we are nowhere near the court date set for Nov 2021 by her. Nor has she reviewed the case with him for her strategy. I contacted her firm Woehrle, Dahlberg & Yao to request they provide some guidance as she did not seem competent to handle a case independently. I never heard back from the office. Instead Amanda sends an email to my son accusing him of declining ALL reasonable settlements and quits! She then billed him $25 for writing this letter and CONTINUES to bill him after quitting stating she'll bill until he signs a doc acknowledging he agrees although he's written in agreement. Truth is, he was not interested in any settlement regarding visitation as the custodial parent has not followed that order for three years! In her letter she states because he refuses all reasonable offers she cannot in good conscious continue to be his attorney. This is beyond the truth. He had already told her no after she'd asked him three different times to settle. He pleaded with her to just believe in his cause. Offer a settlement on his behalf for custody and visitation to the nonconpliant parent! Why would he pay her for just another visitation order that was not in his nor his child's best interest. My son has been deployed out of the country serving our nation and can't even have routine conversations with his daughter because there is such a disregard for him as the father. Amanda knows this. Perhaps it's because she does not have children of her own and cannot phathom that type of pain. RUN in the other direction from this lawyer!!! She lacks compassion and plain old common sense! The firm is no better. She practices under their guidance. I was told because she'd only been practicing for a year, that she would not be alone and she would have the support of the senior partners with experience and that wasn't the truth at all!! They take your hard earned money and leave you high and dry without even offering alternative counsel or intervention for resolution of your concerns knowing she is a new inexperienced lawyer!! My son wasn't getting invoices as stated he would. By the time he saw an invoice months later, they said his retainer fee was spent and he owed even more! She nickels and dimes you for anything and everything with no known progress! RUN in the other direction from Amanda Lewis AND this firm!! I hope this is helpful for anyone unsuspecting. Who wants to pay $4100 PLUS...four months away from your court date and progress nowhere in site...for a lawyer who has not provided you the service you were promised and doesn't believe in your cause!

If I could give a negative rating for this law firm, I would!!!!!!! First of all, I must admit, I was member of LegalShield which placed me at a major disadvantage because this law firm must've assumed I was a welfare recipient because that's the level of service I received. Due to my discounted membership, I was assigned the WORST person with law degree ever from this firm. You notice, I intentionally left the word lawyer out because he is not that. Do NOT allow this horrible firm to assign you PHILLIP LECKY!!!!! He is nice (I don't need nice) but unprofessional, unorganized, had the NERVE to be late to my first hearing, and this "good ole boy" country court system in Chesterfield VA looks at him as a joke. Literally, the judge and my ex's attorney both openly laughed at him in hearing after he made several procedural errors in hearings. Due to his persistent incompetency and lack of court room experience, my ex fiancé was awarded double the current value for a used car she NEVER owned or had titled in her name, she was also able to return a damaged engagement ring to me while in court and Phillip did not possess the confidence and/or competence to object to anything. I paid this trifling law firm thousands of dollars only to be represented in the most inattentive manner ever experienced in a court room. Don't use this law firm, Phillip Lecky, and/or LEGAL shield.

DO NOT GO TO CAROLYN DAHLBERG FOR A CONTESTED DIVORCE! She DOES NOT KNOW what she is doing. With only seven years with the VA State Bar, she does not have the acumen to contest your case. I talked to the partner of Woehle, Dahlberg, Jones, etc Marcel Jones who recommended me to Carolyn Dahlberg, and he states that it is a lesson learned and he will continue to learn from my case. Her Dad, William Thomas Woehle, came to Essex County, VA Circuit Court on 10/8/18 to testify on her behalf during a forensic examination motion. It was NEVER agreed that he should do that. Along with Carolyn Dahlberg's attorney fees for appearance in court for her Dad's arguments during this motion hearing (she never argued in court as my attorney during this forensic examination hearing), I was also charged an extra $1000 when I was ambushed that her Dad was counsel on record in court to argue a motion that Carolyn Dahlberg should have been arguing. It is called bait and switch in business terms and that is illegal. Immediately she addressed the issue and she stated that "I'm so sorry, that was such a mistake." Even charged me their 18 percent monthly interest rate along with it. Daddy=Woehle (Owner of their five, maybe six now, law firms) Daughter= Carolyn Dahlberg. I could not even get a straight answer from her when I questioned her about her arguments in my divorce. She "hemmed and hawed" in her response so I immediately acknowledged the fact that we were not prepared. The worst part is that my divorce case never went to trial after paying her $29,000 from my lifelong retirement funds. She always expresses to you that she has 3 kids to feed and she needs more money to represent you. Such sadness that an attorney does not have the experience to be your divorce attorney. When I had important questions for her, she would always ask me for more money to get my divorce to trial (when I no longer had the money to get my case to trial after the $29,000 plus the 18% monthly interest when I would not pay her Dad's fees), she withdrew as my attorney. What a shame since I asked her from the very beginning when she had been retained, to argue for my court order spousal support that I have not been paid for 3.5 years. A LAWYER SHOULD FIGHT FOR THEIR CLIENT IF THEY KNOW WHAT THEIR CLIENT HAS ACTUALLY GONE THROUGH IN AN ADULTERY/ ABANDONMENT DIVORCE CASE. THIS HAS TO DO WITH AN ATTORNEY'S EXPERIENCE AS A FAMILY LAW / DIVORCE ATTORNEY. Because of her saying she knows what she is doing in a contested divorce case, I am now indigent to pursue my divorce anymore (she was my attorney for 2 years). I am 100 % certain I am her first client in a contested divorce case. If you can learn from my experience, ask upfront how much experience they have fighting for your cause ESPECIALLY in a contested divorce. She should have known from the very beginning what needed to be done. Shame on you Marcel Jones. Shame on you Marcel Jones for recommending me to Carolyn Dahlberg. I wish that there is an organization to help persons get the relief they need in a divorce without being taking advantage of. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated to help me get my divorce case to trial, because I have no more funds anymore to reach that goal due to Carolyn Dahlberg lack of legal expertise to represent me in a divorce matter. Sadly, the law firm will only respond to the positive reviews online, not the negative ones. I am a hard working individual, always had a job since I was 15 years old. To be taken advantage of is SO DESPICABLE, and it gives family law attorneys a bad reputation (unfortunately they are out there without recourse against them, and will gladly charge you extra if you do not review your billing statements). CAROLYN DAHLBERG will even post your email address publicly when reserved in an attorney-client relationship and without the client's consent (and unethical in Virginia State Bar's standards) This is a true statement and this is my Freedom of Speech right to post as a google review. Very deplorable they changed their name.

Attorney Marcel Jones is very professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. He has helped my family and I every step of the way. I highly recommend this law firm.
