I would give her zero stars but had to give 1. She is 1 sided and cares only about money. She is not about what is best for the children. We had her from 2018 to 2024. She came to our home 1 time and met with her twice. Was supposed to have a phone appointment with her but she never called us at the scheduled time. We Called her office and her assistant said Mrs. Erin tried to call us, which we had the phone in hand and we had no missed voicemail. So she lies and she lies in court. Her billing is a joke so make sure to check your billing! SHE NEVER returns your calls and can never talk to her only her assistant.It's been hell having her. So if you are appointed her for your GAL ask for a new one asap!! She destroys family's and cares more about the money instead of the best interest of the children. Aweful experience with her.

Attorney Erin Walsh was assigned to represent my son in our custody case. She was amazing. She listened to everything I had to say also being really proactive. I felt extremely comfortable with her and she always reassured me that everything would be ok. My son also felt comfortable with her. Between her and my Attorney Faye Lyon working together I would not have done it without either of them. They both hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for your hard work Erin!

If you are looking for someone to advocate for you in the court room Erin Walsh at Zimmerman and Walsh is the best Attorney in Winnebago or Boone county to do that for you. She is extremely knowledgeable with regards to family law and out strategized the opposing attorney on my family law case every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better outcome for my children and myself through my divorce. Going through a divorce is probably the most vulnerable you can feel when your possessions, parenting time, etc. are in the hands of the court. She spent an absorbent amount of time educating me throughout the divorce on the process and court rulings. She was extremely responsive when I had questions or concerns, she was understanding, compassionate and made me feel like I was her only client. That is exactly what I needed during a time in my life when emotions and life changes were at its peak. Erin is extremely professional and worked hard to keep my expectations reasonable. She is well like by other attorneys and the court staff, which made it easier to get things done in a timely manner. I could not have chosen someone better to represent my case. Thank you Erin for all you did for me and my children.

I’m unable to give zero stars so this one star rating has to be it. Erin Walsh was appointed as the GAL. I know lawyers can be dishonest but she was the most dishonest one I’ve ever met. She came into my home and was bragging about all the cases she had handled and that it would be no problem getting joint custody. She even bragged about how she was scheduled to have coffee with the child counselor to discuss my case. I spoke to the counselor and was told that was not true….and that never happened before and never would in the future. Lots of other less than truthful statements made by her…in front of my other kids, and inside my home. In summary, be very wary of her and if possible, do not agree to her appointment as a GAL.

Extremely Unprofessional and Untrustworthy Law Firm – Avoid at All Costs When I hired this firm (then operating under the name Zemmerman & Walsh) five years ago, we agreed to a $3,000 upfront payment with the understanding that my case would be resolved within one year. The firm assured me that this fee would cover their services, and that any unused portion would be refunded if the case ended early. They also stated that if the case required more time, their hourly rate would be $250/hour. Since then, I have paid nearly $24,000, and my case is still unresolved. Throughout this time, the firm has: • Ignored or delayed responding to my emails and calls. • Sent conflicting and inconsistent documents. • Raised their hourly rate from $250 to $300 without any proper written notice or proof of mailing. • Refused to provide tracking information when I asked about supposed letters they claimed were sent. At one point, I personally visited their office with my younger brother to ask why the case was dragging on and why the fees were so high. Instead of taking accountability, they blamed delays on my ex-spouse and his attorney. They also verbally promised that my ex-spouse would ultimately be responsible for the legal fees — but when I requested that in writing, they ignored me. The most shocking example came recently, when they billed me nearly $5,000 for a single relocation document. This charge is completely unreasonable. On top of that, they have repeatedly threatened me to drop my case, causing severe emotional distress and fear, all while providing no meaningful progress or results after five years. To make matters worse, I later discovered that many others have had similar negative experiences with this firm. They even recently changed their name to Welsh & Welsh LLP, which gives the impression they are trying to escape accountability for their past conduct. ⚠️ Warning to others: This firm has been unprofessional, untrustworthy, and exploitative in my experience. They appear more interested in draining clients financially than providing genuine legal help. I share my story so that others do not suffer the same way I have.
