These guys are the absolute worst. Candace T. is absolutely awful, zero compassion or care, her goal is to bully you and use untruthful scare tactics. You aren’t allowed to even ask her questions or try to understand, you better just show up and get your payment info ready. She’s instantly in Confrontational and will belittle you on every single call. Helgesen firm, is this the kind of treatment you encourage? I see other complaints here too. Maybe it’s time management talks to Candace…sheesh. Advice: Candace, maybe try just being a little bit professional and polite, it goes a long way. There is zero need for your harshness and determination to bring others down. HOA’s: Be warned, only use this law firm if you want your community members to fully disengage with you. I’d honestly rather deal with a payday lender over HHJ and Candace.

Candace is by far unprofessional. She gets snappy at explaining things, very unprofessional. Tells me she can’t listen to my voicemail because it’s my toddler saying hello and it’s unprofessional. When I ask her why she’s being rude, she hangs up on me. BBB will be informed.

When I first contacted Scott he was sensitive but practical about my case. He gave me a free consultation and wasted no time on my case. Even as I was an emotional wreck his coolness and rational thinking was helped pull me through. I will recommend him to anyone who needs a good lawyer. His assistant Josie was always courteous and professional and timely. Loved this firm! If I need a lawyer again i know who i can turn to.

This firm is so helpful. Scott is unlike any lawyer I've ever known. He's truly invested in the case and really cares about what's best. He seeks to find the best and safest outcome for the child involved. He doesn't play dirty and cut throat like most lawyers. He is a rare breed of lawyers and I mean that in the best way possible. I would recommend him to anyone! His assistant (Jeanine) is amazing as well!

Scott did help me with my divorce case, but when it came to needing follow up done he sent a letter to my ex and pretty much told me I was on my own to fill the paperwork out, but charged me 300 for what! sending a letter!!! He wouldn't continue helping me with my case but charged me anyways. Sounds like a waste of money to me! Sad Just make sure he likes you and maybe he will finish the case.

I have done business with this law firm 4 times now with the same attorney he is like family and I will not go anywhere else. Scott does an amazing job and is so kind. Trusts, wills, divorces, everything. He helped my kiddo with his concerns about things too.

Went in to pick up a check from them as they are hired for a family members estate. I had pneumonia, live near SLC. so about 45-50 minute drive. upon arrival, I am presented a release document of the check asking if I'm satisfied with the final amount. I wasn't, as a large sum was withheld for "what if" scenarios of needing the money. I asked for it to be updated to include the amount be dispursed if unused. not terribly difficult one would think. The older receptionist woman in the back proceeded to argue with me for 20 minutes. Scoffing at me often. With the pneumonia I was unable to speak without coughing, so trying to explain to someone was difficult enough let alone trying to argue. After she states she will not do anything about it nor will she give me my check I'm entitled to as an inheritor, I persist. She has me wait in the waiting area. I thank her. Another receptionist comes out. I try to explain. She argues. I wait. Finally the attorney Scott Nickle comes out. Argues with me while I try to calmly yet firmly explain. 5 minutes later he agrees to finally type an additional paragraph which states the topic of my concerns I've raised to the attorney since November 2024. This took place March 2025. Ample time to have a correct document typed up. 15 minutes later I leave. Later to find that ordeal costs 225$ for one paragraph, arguing with staff for 45 minutes, and a 5-10 minute conversation with the attorney.
