I reached out to attorney Bill Cottrell for assistance with a debt collection matter, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue I contacted him about, he repeatedly diverted to disrespectful questions. His conduct was unprofessional and dismissive. Given this experience, along with the law firm’s already low ratings, I would strongly advise others to seek legal assistance elsewhere.

Discussed matter with Bill Cotrell. I provided documents for his review, he informed me he turned the matter over to Andrew Green in his office. After chasing after them for weeks for a fee schedule, out of the blue, Bill just dropped the case with no referral. If Halpren and Cotrell handle their cases like the handle their client intake, I would be cautious when engaging this firm.

I hired the firm to help collect a judgment that was several years old. The person who owed me money worked very hard to move his assets around, not keep property titled in his name, and every other slippery thing he could do to avoid having to pay. I worked with Andrew Green to get this judgment collected. Andrew was able to collect the judgment in full in around sixty days. He was prompt, professional, kept me informed through the whole process, and achieved excellent results. I will gladly refer my friends and family to anyone who needs help collecting a judgment.

They may be great at collecting money, but, when it comes to them defending one against debt creditors they are absolutely worthless. Plus, they lure you in with a $250 initial fee for writing a response, which I felt was reasonable. Then, they try and get you to retain them for crazy high fees. In my case, they wanted a $2000 retainer against an over 7-year old debt of just over $6k. REALLY???? So, apparently if you need someone to collect money, they may do a good job according to other reviews, but RUN FAST the other way prior to hiring them to defend you against a debt collector!!!!
