Southern Law Group Asheville

Updated as of September of 2025 - they are still the best!!!! And Toni is a delight to work with. Her communication is outstanding! We recently had the opportunity to work with Southern Law Group Asheville on behalf of a client purchasing a home here in Western NC. Communication is excellent with this firm, and we really appreciate how they tailored Asheville Luxury Brokers methodology into the closing process. I am a real estate agent and have been using Southern Law Group since 2017 as well as have referred all of my clients to Southern Law Group over the years. I have not found a better attorney in town to work with and I have worked with many prior to Southern Law Group. I enjoy all of their staff, their systems, processes, etc. The attorneys (yes, multiple) have always been accessible and easy to reach to get questions answered. Being able to call on multiple attorneys and receive a myriad of opinions and experience is such a breath of fresh air. You will not regret using Southern Law Group for all of your real estate closing needs.

We closed on our new place with Southern Law Group. The process was easy and relatively fast. Everything was setup when we arrived. We sat with a notary and filled out a bit of paperwork. We were done and out before we knew it. Would recommend or use again.

I used Southern Law earlier this year when purchasing a home in NC. I chose the firm for ease since the seller was already using them. We had some title issues with the home and had to push back the closing several times. I was surprised that Southern Law showed no sense of urgency and didn’t seem to help search for solutions to the issue beyond pushing back the closing date. I finally traveled to NC for the closing on a Thursday before a holiday weekend. The closing was then pushed to Friday morning and made electronic. That would have been fine, except that by Friday EOD, the deed still hadn’t been recorded. The closing attorneys knew that I had traveled to town specifically for the closing and was planning to be at the home all weekend to have meetings with contractors. But then I couldn’t even legally be in the home at all that weekend since I didn’t have legal possession. The deed was finally recorded late Tuesday afternoon after I had already left town. On the deed, Southern Law mixed up the addresses for the buyer and the seller and had wrote in a totally incorrect marital status. It took almost a week for them to file the correction, and in the affidavit of correction, they spelled the word warranty as well as the buyer’s name wrong. I would expect a closing attorney to double check these details, especially on the official deed filed with the state! Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing experience that soured my exciting home purchase. I would not recommend using Southern Law.

As a realtor, I have done business with almost every closing attorney in the Asheville area. Southern Law by far, outshines them all. They are very professional, thorough, responsive and make sure we close on time, every time. I would highly recommend.

I have been a Realtor for 3 years now and Southern Law Group is the best law office around. All of the paralegals are super communicative and everyone in the Asheville office is so kind & accommodating not only for me but also always put my clients first. I will not use another law firm!

Was buying my daughter a house. Got the HUD statement, went to the local bank and got a cashier's check for the correct amount. My daughter went to closing and was told that they would not accept a cashier's check for over $5K. Multiple differing explanations as to why they wouldn't accept the check. Just would have been nice to have been told up front. Had to go back to the bank and wire the funds. My bank and the realtor had never heard of such a thing. In summary, if you are dealing with this firm, be sure to wire the funds.
