Steve Hood, Attorney at Law, PS

I did not feel informed or well represented by Steve Hood. He wants to talk politics; meanwhile, I was trying to survive. He mentions SSI stretches things out till we die, so they don't have to pay out; however, he didn't prepare me for adjudication.

After discontinuing seeking Beau Robey's help with my disability claim after repeated PTDS triggering I reached out to Steve Hood. On the initial contact with Steve Hood he mentioned he is good friends with Beau. He assured me that the one specific word that is a trigger to me was not part of his regular vocabulary and shouldn't be a problem for him to refrain from using that word especially knowing it is a trauma trigger. I made an appointment with Steve to meet and discuss my case that supposed to happen on 03/07/2023 I called beforehand and on the second contact with Steve Hood he used that word specifically. At that point there was no need to meet and he said I was "too hard to work with". I did record conversations with both of them with their permission documenting what to me feels like mental abuse. I am fearful to post this review. However, I will, because in my opinion knowingly triggering someone in such a way is not only unprofessional, but furthering the mental damage that has already been done as well.

If there were more stars I would surely put him at a 10. After going to another attorney in Bellingham with my daughters disability application that had been denied several times. This other attorney decided that she was not easy money and refused to appeal it in federal court. Steve reviewed the case, and took it to federal court and won. He represented her at the new hearing, won and she now has her full disability. He is caring and is willing to help you in any way. I have referred several people to him since he is the best.

Disability, both physical and mental lend to themselves to a certain sense of invalidation as we become disjointed from work, culture and society. As our bodies suffer devitalization,. Disabled Americans experience the very real decontrol that grows from a long term debilitating illness. As disabilities progress, skill sets that existed once are now attenuated. Our ability or agency is throttled and there seems that there is no Amber Road to steal away before the dawn and bring us back good news. The idea of obtaining social Security benefits (SSI and SSDI) seems a project of remarkable feat as we are denied time and time again in application for the human right of health and medical access through Medicare as well as a modest monthly stipend. I applied three times with all of the extensive and complete inclusion of the required medical records and employment history and was denied each time and over an excruciating long four year process. I found Steve Hood, former SSA stateside attorney for the Agency, turned champion of America's sick and poor.He and his staff poured over my case, strengthened my stance, explained the entire process from beginning to end and drew on the collateral evidence of witnesses. Most beneficial was the time we took practicing 'role play' to familiarize and ready me for situations of the court case representatives I would encounter and tactics used by Agency lawyers to enervate or weaken my case. I won the court proceeding, Steve Hood proved to me that I could find virility and set myself on the indefatigable quest to cure my disease.

Mr. Hood is the best ss lawyer I have found across the country. He was very patient and accommodating when I wasn't the easiest client to deal with. I to wld give Mr. Hood more stars if possible because he is most definitely a 10.Thank you Mr. Hood

Steve did a fantastic job with my case. He managed to take over a case that another attorney completely bungled. He was able to take the case to federal court and get it sent back to the ALJ where the case was found fully favorable for me. Thank you, Steve. You were fantastic!

My experience with Mr. Hood's practice was both very professional and very helpful! Keep up the great work you are helping those of us who need it most and seeing your skills at work is a wonder to behold. I would say very, very highly recommended!
