I was transferred to an attorney who, while never somewhat professional, answered the call since the first minute with a tone that felt disinterested and unwelcoming, as if I was interrupting her nap . Within a minute of explaining my situation ,which required providing proper context so she wouldn’t be confused later,she abruptly interrupted me, stating that she had another client on the line. If my case was not of interest or outside of her scope, a more professional approach would have been to clearly communicate that, or at least offer an email where I could briefly summarize my issue. Instead, I was dismissed in favor of another client, which reflected a lack of courtesy , empathy and consideration. I politely told her to proceed with her other client and ended the call. In hindsight, I’m grateful this happened early, as it revealed the type of attorney-client relationship I could have expected — one lacking connection, empathy, and the willingness to truly listen. These are critical qualities in legal representation. Fortunately, I have found another attorney taking care of my case , who provided a far better experience, demonstrating professionalism, attentiveness, and respect. It is important for potential clients to be aware of these differences red flags 🚩 in approach. Si mi caso no era de su interés o estaba fuera de su ámbito, hubiera sido más profesional comunicarlo claramente, o al menos ofrecer un correo electrónico donde pudiera resumir mi situación. En lugar de eso, fui descartada en favor de otro cliente, demostrando una falta de cortesía , empatía y consideración. De manera educada, le indiqué que atendiera a su otro cliente y finalicé la llamada. Viéndolo en retrospectiva, agradezco que esto ocurriera desde el inicio, ya que reveló el tipo de relación abogado-cliente que podría haber esperado: una relación sin conexión, empatía ni disposición para escuchar realmente. Estas son cualidades esenciales en una representación legal. Afortunadamente, encontré otro abogado que defenderá mi caso,quien me brindó una atención mucho mejor, demostrando profesionalismo, atención y respeto. Es importante que los futuros clientes conozcan estas diferencias banderas rojas. El profesionalismo no solo se basa en el conocimiento legal, sino también en cómo se trata a las personas desde la primera interacción.
