The first encounter with The Document People was with my father in 2004, when his living trust was established. Since then, The Document People has been a staple in our family providing a Living Trust for an elderly cousin in 2017 and again for myself in 2024 . The services that are provided are exceptional. Aside from the Living Trust, The Document People has provided us with support and assistance in a Probate. The Document People’s staff fosters knowledge, confidentiality, and the assurance that all documents are prepared in a timely manner. I had my Trust and Will prepared by The Document People in Oceanside, with Minerva as the employee who handled my documents. After they were completed, I began asking questions about whether everything was done correctly. Minerva initially assured me they were, but then instructed me to destroy my husband’s previous Trust and Will documents. This raised serious concerns for me. I spoke with the owner, Rose, about the situation and requested a refund due to the potential legal issues that could arise from how my Trust and Will were handled. Unfortunately, they refused my request. Since then, they have fired Minerva—seemingly to cover up her unprofessionalism and misrepresentation—rather than take true accountability for the situation. In my opinion, this company tries to cover up mistakes made in the process and shift the blame onto the client rather than taking responsibility. Because of my experience, I strongly caution others not to use this company for something as important as Living Trust and Will documents.
