Christopher Schulz really drives all the negative stereotypes about lawyers. You can always count on him to be rude, arrogant, and lack any kind of compass when it comes to finding honesty or ethics.

Hoffer is reasonable for a lawyer representing schools. As a child welfare lawyer, you won't hear me say that about many attorneys for schools or districts. Most of them are awful to work with, even when they're not incompetent and/or dishonest. Hoffer was responsive and his position was reasonable, though not exactly what I wanted to hear on behalf of my client. May be the best school lawyer in San Antonio that I've dealt with. Firm represents BASIS and Great Hearts, among others. Certainly better than whoever advises NEISD, as those clowns didn't fix the Open Meetings problems, even after the newspaper called them out, repeatedly. Looking at the school districts for this region, it's a struggle to find good legal compliance, whether for special ed or parents' rights, so it's not surprising that charter schools are on the rise. Knowing Hoffer, it doesn't surprise me that his firm is the leading law firm for charter schools in San Antonio.

Look for the right Attorney could become in a challenge or a nightmare so easily. This law firm is professional, very knowledgeable, reliable, honest and sincere in any advice because they are not looking for personal benefits, they are looking to satisfy your needs. They built a great team over the years to serve the customers beyond and above expectations. Do not hesitate if you are looking for a law firm to represent you.

Joe Hoffer and his partners and associates are outstanding professionals who are well respected by judges, colleagues and clients. Mr. Hoffer goes beyond what is expected to serve his clients. He is fair and honest as he gives legal consultation. I highly recommend him and know that hundreds of other clients would also highly recommend him.

This is not a law firm I can utilize as it represents school districts. I did however provide 2 stars based on the reputation of one of the partners. I will not say which one. I am a parent of a child with disabilities and I find it snakish that anyone would fight for children not receiving what they are entitled to by law. On the flip side even dirtbags by law get a proper defense. I have had major issues with tactics utilized by this firm and honestly I can forsee it leading to problems sooner rather than later however, the law isn't always about what is right or for the best it is about who can put on the better show even if the show is all smoke and mirrors. Ethics is not something that is at the top of the to do list from my personal experience going up against this firm. I'm sure if a school district utilizes these individuals some child will be screwed out of what they are entitled to by law. The child doesn’t really factor into much at all. It is ironic that a school will pay a lawyer hundreds of thousands but won't pay under 10,000 for services allowed by federal law. Ethics are preached about in law school but if you find a lawyer that employs them...that lawyer probably doesn't have many clients. Good luck with this firm, hopefully you won't end up in civil court.
