I really wanted to give a 5-star review, especially because the attorney seemed so confident and knowledgeable, despite still being early in his career. However, in my case, my trust in Fortis has proven to be detrimental. The information I was provided during the free consultation and subsequent case review were informative, but have proven to be detrimental to my situation. Based on the advisement from the attorney during the free consultation, I did not respond to my former employer's offer because he said I was protected by Maryland law from a disparaging reference. As such, I missed a key negotiation window/deadline. During the case review, I was again told that Maryland law is strict about the types of references former employers can provide so I shouldn't worry. However, I have learned from a couple of other attorneys that this is false and I have also verified it through my own research. For these reasons, I cannot rate this firm beyond 2 stars.

Although this team could not help me with my current legal matter, they did give me two great referrals to fight my case. These are the types of law firms that I like to keep in contact with because they maintain their integrity and their transparency to helping the little people.
