I've had two phone consultations with this group over the past six years and in each instance I found the attorneys to be forthright, insightful, and above all else helpful. There was no pressure to proceed with a paid relationship, no withholding of advice -- just good guidance and a clear look at my situation and the implications of the choices in front of me. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them again.
My experience with The Employment Law Group was excellent. The attorney provided very good technical assistance as I reviewed various issues. Moreover, he raised several strategic matters that I hadn't considered. I am a very enthusiastic endorser of the firm, both for its capabilities and for the high degree of value delivered at an important time.
I have used The Employment Law Group more than once and I have been extremely happy with the experiences. I work in tech sales and Scott Oswald has helped me to negotiate an excellent compensation package from my employer. He was extremely detail-oriented and professional during my consultation. It was immediately evident how experienced he was in this field. I would highly recommend them!
I reached out to Nick Woodfield at The Employment Law Group about a complicated non-compete issue with my former employer. Nick took the time to listen carefully, review the documents, and explain the law clearly. He could have taken a retainer — and I offered — but instead he told me, "Honestly, I think you can do this yourself," and gave me specific, step-by-step instructions on how to resolve it. Following his guidance, I was able to settle the issue on my own. At a time when other attorneys were dismissive, unhelpful, or immediately demanded large fees, Nick stood out for his integrity, kindness, and willingness to genuinely help someone in a difficult situation. His professionalism and honesty meant a great deal to me. I am truly grateful and highly recommend him.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the work and support your legal firm has provided. Your legal counsel was balanced and focused, giving me the confidence to demand justice under the extreme situation I found myself in. As a cofounder of the NGO, it is always important that I should be able to keep the organization on track for our mission, adhering to the by laws and protecting my colleagues and employees from any unfair practices. Adam understood this and his guidance was on point without wasted hours. The outcome was as desired and I would highly recommend your firm to others caught in an unexpected legal tangle!
An outstanding firm representing employees caught in difficult situations by their company. The attorneys and staff helped guide me through to a good conclusion. The strategy they set and the knowledge that guided their decision making, added a layer of comfort during this difficult time. Highly recommend TELG for employees seeking excellent representation.
UPDATE (from October 2025): As a former public school employee, I retained TELG to represent me in a racial discrimination dispute with my former employer. My school district recruited me to serve in an acting leadership role for two years, then refused to allow me to apply to keep the job permanently -- which I challenged with EEOC. TELG repeatedly insisted that I resolve my dispute by adhering to my employer's requests to endure an additional year of "internship" experience in order to get licensed and avoid my retaliatory demotion and $25K reduction in salary. I requested multiple times over the course of our litigation agreement that TELG's suggestions carried an inaccurate understanding of state law regarding certification for educators. Instead, I requested that they engage my state's department of education for an appropriate resolution, yet TELG refused my requests. Following my independent advocacy, on Feb. 13, 2026, my state's superintendent of schools reviewed my situation and determined that consistent with COMAR 13A.12.01.07A, the superintendent can find that "... alternatively a formal evaluation demonstrating effective performance" for the time I've already served in my acting leadership role suffices for the purposes of licensure. If my former employer hadn't obstructed my ability to get licensed by refusing to provide me a formal evaluation for years of service I've already completed, they would have had no pretext to demote me and reduce my salary. My former employer has repeatedly refused to provide me a formal evaluation and TELG never sought to request one on my behalf. I've now successfully filed a 2nd lawsuit pro se based upon this newly revealed information. Not only did TELG refuse to honor my requests, but they failed to provide reasonable diligence in establishing the facts under the law relevant to my case. It's astonishing that I was able to more successfully advocate for myself than those with the supposed expertise. Predictably, no one from TELG has responded to my correspondence sharing these developments and requests for resolution due to their inadequate representation. Thankfully, there are avenues for laypeople to fight back against such misconduct from lawyers. I'm pursuing my grievance against TELG with the state's Bar (file no.: 2025-2059). Anyone considering this firm, I encourage you to save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
