I was very nervous when looking for an attorney to represent me on a very serious class 1 charge in Illinois. To make matters worse, I am not from the area, I am from the east coast and had no recommendations to go off of. From the moment I was in contact with Steve his team went well above and beyond on my case. The explanations of every angle of the case was explained to me thoroughly. However, what separates the really good lawyers from the mediocre lawyers is their courtroom presence. Steves first opportunity in my case was at my preliminary hearing. Anyone that knows about preliminary hearings in criminal cases knows these are mostly formality hearings which a known outcome of probable cause will be found. Steve showed and poked holes in every word that came out of the witness (police) mouths on the stand, and totally made the states case look extremely weak. It was truly like a scene out of a movie the way Steve crossed the experienced law enforcement witness on the stand. This set the tone in my case. My case ended in an outright dismissal, even better than I ever imagined. And I can promise you, if it would have came down to a decision of risking it all and let Steve fight my case at trial, I would have made that decision. Thats how much I trusted Steves abilities.
