"Lee Hotchkin, Esq., recently represented me in a complex DMV felony case related to my hotly contested divorce, regarding a title transfer issue, related to attempting to repair a vehicle that I had purchased new in 2003 with community income... that was involved in a minor accident that the other driver admitted fault, and after mutually trading insurance information, I had to file a small claims action against the drivers company, even thought they admitted fault. Due to COVID restrictions and courthouse closings, Lee Hotchkin was able to postpone the hearing for almost 3 years (with my approval) while strategically negotiating with the DA to plea bargain a trumped up felony charge that was filed by two of my older children, who were given my 50% proxy community interest in our estate without my consent, that erroneously included the vehicle that I was driving (which I not only purchased with our community income... but was CONVERTED to personal property no longer owned by the LLC...!) my older children... who never invested a single dollar in our LLC's, nor ever paid for the vehicle that it was titled under, all at the prodding, and instigating... of my soon to be ex-wife. The complexity of combining a ridiculous exaggerated potential felony charge, with a seemingly never ending divisive divorce, involving over-emotional greedy misdirected older children, was a potential recipe for a disastrous outcome... that Lee Hotchkin ultimately and successfully, worked out a settlement negotiation to our benefit... by pleading only to a minor misdemeanor, thus avoiding a trumped up felony charge and a potentially expensive and time consuming trial...! Although, my attorney Lee Hotchkin and myself BOTH believed that we would have prevailed at trial had we decided NOT to settle... I realized that this legal episode was not worth the resources, emotional toll, nor the expense, to prove our point and innocence while possibly bearing the potential uncertain legal liability and outcome of having to go through a jury trial... and by taking Lee Hotchkins professional expert advice, we were able to obtain the best possible resolution... for the least expense... whereby by pleading "No Contest", I also avoid being sued in the future... by my ex-wife, or the instigating two 36+Y.O. older children involved, and in one year, Lee Hotchkin will "SEAL" my criminal record... as if this nightmare never happened...! I received a DUI in a very small town in northern Nevada after allegedly running a stop sign. My wife and I were on vacation from Arizona and it was a very stressful series of events. The closest lawyers I was able to find was in Reno and there were not too many choices. After thoroughly reviewing each profile of the lawyers that were available I chose to hire Lee Hotchkins. Lee was known as being fierce in court and he had years of experience defending cases such as mine. The trial eventually occurred 9 months after the incident. During the 9 month period Lee made many motions to dismiss and the prosecution opposed each motion. The case file containing emails back and forth with the DA was substantial. No video evidence was ever turned over. Lee continued to push to the point where a different prosecutor assumed the case after the original prosecutor became frustrated. On the day of the trial the DA made a deal to drop the DUI to a reckless driving citation. The plea was very unexpected and surprised Lee almost as much as it surprised me and my wife. Lee Hotchkins is admirable, a man of his word who fights fiercely for the rights of his clients in a passionate and forceful manner. Lee will not beat around the bush and will astutely advise you in your own best interest. My wife and I gave Lee a very big hug after the trial. Without his council the ramifications would have been much more severe.
