Awful experience. Crude, rude and ineffective staff and attorney. You will only hear from Alison for payment and her billed hours are padded. Court preparation was terrible and she looked lost when questioned by the judge. Also, when I finally wised up and got a new lawyer Alison refused to communicate with my new attorney. When her cases file finally showed up months later it showed no effort and was riddled with errors. Please save yourself time and lots of money and just find a different lawyer. Want more proof? Wow, negative stars should be an option. My divorce started in 2010 and it took 3 years all due to Alison and my ex's attorney playing a constant game of procrastination. Plenty of things happened in between but the two biggest things are 1) I sent an email to coordinate my house closing between all parties. Apparently she doesn't like emails because I received a nasty email typed in CAPITAL LETTERS and she suddenly could not make my closing and I would have lost my house if I did not close at that time. When I sent her an apology email her calendar suddenly opened up and we closed. 2) I hired a new attorney after that & she advised me that my divorce papers were already completed but Alison never followed up (because she was still billing me for phone calls & correspondence). The new attorney had it signed, sealed and gave it to me and Alison billed me for it taking credit for the new lawyer. The date on her bill was after I already had it in my possession. I wanted to divorce Alison more than my ex. I am in a great place now but did that by myself, no help from Alison! She made a bad situation worse. I forgot to mention she lies. She wouldn't work without her payment!!!

Alison was excellent. After 7 court visits with my old attorney, I realized that my case was going down the drain, so I decided to interview 5 attorneys that had the most cases with the Judge. Alison was #2 on the list with 14 cases previous year, and I liked her the best out of 5 that I interviewed. Once she took over the case, 2 visits to court later we settled the case. I'm happy with the outcome, although outcome would probably be even better have I hired her from the beginning.

The best divorce lawyer in town, she always has the best interest of the client and fights tooth and nail for you! Highly recommend her to anyone going through some really tough and unfair times. She will straighten it right out! She is tough and tough is what you need when it comes to divorce because the other side always looking to rake you. She wont let it happen! she is very fair!

Terrible lawyer. Avoid if you want a quick resolution to your legal problems. Drags out everything, billing overages and never returns calls. My review is accurate and based upon the unfortunate experience of being Alison's client. Just look at her office. It’s a dump! Planning on filing a complaint with the NY State Bar. Alison's response is that she never represented me. Sad, she almost ruined my life and doesn't even recall my name. If she can't remember something from a few years ago do you really want her representing you in court? No you don't. Avoid her and get a real lawyer.

From my first meeting with Ms. Aplin, I felt confident that she would represent me in my divorce case excellently. She was on top of everything and didn’t back down to the opposing counsel. She was thorough and knew what she was doing every step of the way!! She always had my best interests at heart and I am very happy with the end result. I would recommend her highly and her staff is always pleasant and happy to help when you call!!
