Update since I posted about working with Ryan. I have had a number of opportunities to work with Ryan over the years and he has always been exceptionally insightful, thoughtful, and strategic regarding my child’s special education needs. Ryan has since opened a law practice in California and he now serves families in Washington and California. Working with Ryan remains one of the best decisions I ever made. When my son entered the WA school district I called several education advocates/attorneys to seek help with my son's special ed case. I wanted a knowledgeable and experienced attorney in special education law. Ryan Ford was by far the best one and the most experienced that I spoke to. We have worked with Ryan for many years. Special Education attorney Lara Hruska at the Cedar Law PLLC is so knowledgeable and top notch! A key service was taken away from our student’s IEP. Our good friend suggested we have attorney Hruska represent us. Financial reality was that we could not afford legal help. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a legal firm. We were referred to Cedar Law by our therapist after our son was injured at school, hoping for guidance and support. Instead, they refused to even speak with us! To make matters worse, when our therapist reached out for clarification, they had the audacity to accuse us of harassment. They treated a concerned mom—just trying to help her son—horribly. It was beyond unprofessional and left us feeling completely dismissed and betrayed. Now we’ve found a competent lawyer who is actively helping us navigate our situation with the school district.
