I hired this firm for a guardianship case and was very disappointed. Despite a sizable retainer, preparation was minimal and much of the drafting work was done by me. Communication focused heavily on phone calls rather than concrete legal strategy, and courtroom advocacy was limited. The case was dismissed, and no refund was offered despite the lack of substantive work. I have asked for a detailed breakdown of time billed and a refund of any remaining retainer and have not received either. I would urge others to be very cautious and ask detailed questions about preparation and scope before retaining this firm.

We hired the team at Facer Law to create and oversee a Trust for me and my elderly husband. We have zero experience in this area, and we are not wealthy, but we could see that we are getting older, and sometime in the next five years one of us might have to explore the expensive world of assisted living facilities. These facilities cost thousands per month and will use up your savings quickly. There are ways you can protect your assets from "The State" taking them over your (in exchange for providing assisted living until the end of your life). You, yourself, must hold no assets for the five years prior to asking for government help with the exorbitant costs of assisted living. Facer Law specializes in helping you set up a legal Trust to separate out your possessions. There is a flat fee for this Trust-building process. The process is complicated but not impossible. Facer stands by you until the Trust is completed, answering the endless questions with patience, tact, solid legal advice, and solid personal advice (if asked). Before contracting with Facer I thought that our plan of hoping for the best was very weak and I was worried about the future. After Facer, I can sleep at night without worrying. Every single day our Trust grows older and more independent. In two weeks our Trust will be one year old. We are now partly protected, but in four more years we will be 100% protected. It’s so important to keep your last $ safe, in reserve, because you probably will still need to spend it on yourself or your spouse, but if you have anything at all left when you die, then at least it can go to your children instead of "The State." I’m glad I met Theo Facer and his family. They are kind, consoling, ethical, reliable, and very strongly know what they are doing. They are nice to have on your side.

Ever since since my mom's death I wish she could come back for one day.. to pick any other Estate lawyer than these "professionals". they made me take down my other reviews to continue to work with them. they withheld all and any information from the heir, me, since last November. I have been waiting for any information to move on with my life as the caretaker of her estate and property. it turns out that the deed was signed over in March and they only just sent me the paperwork in late September. they said this entire process would take 6 to 8 months and at the end of 10 months they say this will take another 6 to 8 months for completion of her estate. please do not put yourself through what I have gone through. they have caused so much distress that I have had two mental breakdowns waiting for any information. do your research and pick anyone else. And do not leave them a bad review because they will force you to take them down. but I'm sick of it so here you go. I can't wait to see the itemized bill and when they send that I will update this review. saying it will take 6 to 8 months and having it take 18 months seems very unacceptable, especially when dealing with a grieving son.

Thorpe and Theodore Facer are knowledgeable and experts at what they do. They care for each of their clients and treat them like family. I have been nothing but impressed with their work.
