Hi my name is Doug, I went to Godbey Law offices, seeking representation during a reasonably amicable divorce, and a domestic protection order where I had to vacate the family home In the weeks leading up to the divorce, not uncommon for many in my position To be honest, I was pretty close to flat broke at this point and the series of bad choices I made had lead me to the place where my back was literally against the wall and I couldn’t afford representation. Though I had assets , I simply had no cash to pay a retainer fee. Well, they allowed me to sign a promissory note and take a small mortgage against the family home, Very few law firms would do such a thing , they were very flexible,, kind ,helpful, and compassionate .
