One star is too generous. Do not retain Carey. She consistently filed documents late and missed deadlines, which caused important information not to be obtained. I had to follow up constantly because she was disorganized and forgetful — even after phone calls, she wouldn’t remember what was discussed. I eventually told her and her assistant that I would not keep repeating myself; Carey simply needed to do her job. When I raised concerns about her poor performance, she went completely silent. Then, she had the audacity to send me a bill for over $3,000 — despite doing almost nothing on my case. I requested a detailed billing statement several times and was ignored. She often blamed her lack of follow-through on medical issues. If that’s the case, she shouldn’t be taking on active cases. Most of her time on calls was spent gossiping about opposing counsel instead of focusing on my case. An absolutely unprofessional experience from start to finish.

Carey was great to work with. We completed my divorce in one month. She was quick to get things rolling and finished. She was very compassionate and friendly to work with. She made me feel comfortable during the entire process.

Zero stars. But I have to write this to be able to. This person doesn't even deserve the professional title of lawyer. Ms. Elise A. Fischer cannot represent her clients; she is... Inefficient It achieves no results for your case, there is no communication whatsoever, zero communication, and when there is nothing else to be done, it loses all its cases, it is then that it attempts communication. He constantly demands his payments on time for nothing. I don't even know how he gets his professional license approved. It's more about making money than representing anyone. If you need an excellent defense professional, this person cannot deliver. He lacks experience and ability, even with a robust and reliable record that a client might provide.

I do not recommend using this law firm unless you want your case to drag out for months and like not having your emails or phone calls returned. This whole process has been ridiculous. I am more than disgusted with their services. I am still trying to get my divorce finalized and haven't heard from her in 3 weeks. No response to my emails or the messages I've left with her office.

This place needs to be sued for fraud they give you the run around and push back everything answers calls and text 25% of the time maybe even less. Extremely unprofessional after they take your money and accept the case been over 1 years and no progress and they are dodging any requests for a refund.

One star rating is way to high. This individual was assigned to my case. She never met with me a single time to work on my case prior to preliminary hearing. After the preliminary was no different. I was the only one who made any attempts to meet on my case. I sat in her office for an hour as her secretary attempted to make contact with her. She is worthless as attorney and a person in general. She should be disbarred from practicing law in the State Of North Dakota.

If I could pick Carey to be my lifetime attorney I would in a heartbeat. I was treated better than family and felt that my best interest was top priority. Thank you Goetz Fischer LLP!
