My experience with this law firm has been a total joke. There is a severe lack of communication, and it takes these people months to get a petition ready for court. Then, the firm didn’t even file it with the court after mailing me the paperwork to sign, I signed and return it, and they later confirmed receipt of the paperwork. I was told the petition would be filled either the middle of September or October 1st at the latest. When I later messaged to get the status of my case and the case number, I received no reply from the person I worked with on the petition. Weeks later, another person I never talked to sent a message asking me to call, so she could get more information from me to work on my petition. This was on November 11th 2025 after the petition I signed was to be filed September 15th or October 1st. When I asked why my petition had not been filed, and I wanted to talk to the person who drew up my petition to sign and file, I was only told that person no longer worked for Great Plains. I was never given a reason why my petition was not filed when I was told it would be, or what happened to the person I worked with. I asked several times with no answers given. This led me to believe someone at Great Plains Legal Services, LLC dropped the ball and didn’t want to admit to it. It was at this point I told Great Plains I no longer wanted the company to handle my case due to trust issues, and I asked for a refund. Again, this was in November 2025, and I never received communication on my refund or even an accounting after mailing a certified letter received by the firm on December 29th 2025. On January 26th 2026 I sent another email about my refund for work not performed, and the next day I got an itemized statement by email showing all my money was used up, and I actually owed the firm $500 plus, which they "graciously" waived. Interesting, the company provided poor service, provided dismal communication, didn’t even file my petition with the court four months after getting paid, and said I actually owed money when not even half the work was completed. The last lawyer I hired for different work, before Great Plains, provided great service at the agreed price, did what I asked in a timely manner, and communicated with me every step on the way. Now I know what a really good law firm represents as well as the bad ones. This has been my experience with Great Plains, and it has not been a good one. My next course of action will be filing a grievance with the Oklahoma Bar Association. If you buy a product that is defective, or get poor service, you usually get all your money back. It is interesting this does not apply to lawyers.
