I am in the process of putting a voluntary lien on someone's house and wanted to discuss the process. I was not happy but okay with the $200 consulting fee with the understanding that we would discuss the process and the ins and outs of doing this. What I felt like I got was someone fresh out of school who did not know anything about this process and wanted to charge me $5,000 for a lien on a $20,000 promissory note. I have heard of big law companies hiring fresh meat to do all the work and get subpar results, that's what I feel like this company is after my consultation.
