Angela and her team was absolutely AMAZING!!!! This was a new experience for me. Angela and her team walked me through the entire process from beginning to end. I had a ton of questions and they always provided great responses in a timely manner. They were extremely responsive which was very important to me and I received real time updates. It was also extremely helpful that all information from my file was on the case portal so I was able to view my entire file and any documents at any point in time. They honored all my requests and prioritized all of the details that were important to me in my case. Divorce is never easy, but it does help when you have a great lawyer and team backing you up during a very difficult process. It is with sadness that I write this review because at my core I believe in supporting Black businesses. However, my experience with Angela was extremely disappointing. I paid her office over $20,000 in legal fees and have very little to show for it. I was pressured by her to sign a change of attorney form mid-trial, just because I was attempting to gain clarity on how I was being billed. I received inconsistent information from her billing assistant, the billing portal and Angela and when I continued to seek out clarity, she blindsided me with an email threatening to file a motion if I did not sign a change of attorney form. Just to make sure I was not in the wrong, I shared the email trail with 3 friends of mine who are attorneys and they all collectively agreed that her handling of the matter was unprofessional, unethical and extreme; That as a client, I have a right to ask questions about how I am billed, especially if I consistently pay the bill. I actually had my first red flag with her several months prior when I was forwarding her emails relating to my case; she condescendingly told me to stop forwarding her emails because it was the weekend. I let her know that I did not appreciate her tone and she responded by sharing a serious issue another one of her clients was having (that I will not share out of respect for that client) as a way to minimize the issue I was experiencing. I thought to change attorneys after the exchange, but I didn't want to mid-trial and decided to stick it out. I did have a level of trust in Angela, and she came off as authentic to me when she spoke my language of why it's important for Black attorneys to rep Black families due to their ability to understand our issues and care in a more intimate way. This is why I blindly paid my bill for most of the case, even when I didn't 100% understand it. I feel as if I was taken advantage of, and it will take a while before I am able to recover both emotionally and financially from this experience. The silver lining in this all is that I now have an attorney who is much more affordable, assessable and effective.

My brother was being accused of being a dead beat dad who didn’t pay support for 4 years . It was very concerning and alarming that he had the burden of proof on him. We were recommended by another attorney to work with Angela. From the beginning to the end Angela and her team responded timely and very clear in their needs to represent my brother and very clear on what was going on through this court issue. Angela went to court with strong proof and detailed and persistence and got my brother his justice he deserved proving that his babies mother lied on numerous occasions that no only did my brother support his child but even the mother and her other daughter. Angela in several occasions called me directly while off handling family matters so though I believe even lawyers need time off but when it was urgently needed Angela replied!!!
