I cannot recommend the Law Offices of O. Yale Lewis III highly enough. After a terrible experience with another law firm that seemed more interested in draining my bank account than helping me move forward, I turned to Yale in a moment of real frustration and uncertainty. Although things started off a little bumpy—initially they had to drop my case after realizing how close my court date was—they didn’t walk away. Instead, Yale went above and beyond, speaking with opposing counsel to get the court date extended, and then retook my case. That alone showed me how committed he was to helping me—not just when it was easy, but even when it was complicated. From that point on, Yale and his team guided me through every step of the divorce with clarity, integrity, and compassion. He never wasted time or money—unlike my previous attorney—and was committed to helping me resolve things as quickly and affordably as possible. Even though I didn’t walk away with everything I felt I deserved, he helped me see that settling fairly, rather than dragging things through prolonged mediation or court, was the healthiest and smartest decision. He treated me like a person, not just a case number, and helped me close this painful chapter with dignity, peace, and strength. If you are unfortunate enough that your reality is one where you need someone like Yale to help you through a family law issue, then you are in good hands. In a system that is often anything but logical. I’m talking left foot, right foot, 1+1 is 2 logic. Not subjective. Yale will remind you of how it works and the reality you have to swallow. There appears to be many attorneys who cosign your drama and try to piss out a wildfire on your dime. Yale wont. Thank you for all you have done for me.

Mr. Yale Lewis and his paralegal, Mr. Jonathan Parker, were the best legal team I could’ve had. I had a very messy divorce, but Mr. Lewis and Mr. Parker guided me every step of the way. There was domestic violence and they both gave me sympathy and compassion. I felt heard and seen by them. They gave me a voice and made me brave when I was terrified of the other party. Mr. Lewis gave helpful advice and information for my Parenting Plan which was complicated because of jurisdictional issues and really fought for the safety of my child and myself. He went above and beyond for us. There were hidden financial problems and Mr. Lewis guided me through what to do and how best to protect myself. When my ex-husband refused to communicate or settle, Mr. Lewis continued to move the case along and prepare for trial. At the last minute rather than face a deposition by Mr. Lewis, my ex-husband and his attorney agreed to a settlement in my favor. Mr. Lewis and Mr. Parker were very responsive. They always answered my questions right away and were always available even for last minute phone calls. They never left me in the dark. They work hard, fight for you, and want what’s best for you at the end of each day. Thank you to a wonderful team. I never would be where I am today without you.

Most people heavily slant their ratings of attorneys for divorce and custody cases based on emotions tied to the outcome. Well, I was unhappy with the outcome of my case, but I am still giving a very strong endorsement to my attorney, Mr. Yale Lewis. He always kept me informed, solicited my feedback and explained what he was going to do and why. His rational was always sound. He found a creative path forward during adequate cause that worked well. During the trial itself, he did a remarkable job of representing the situation as it happened and tying it to the law. He was able to point to the many holes in the opposing side’s portrayal of the situation. Before the judge’s verdict, I was very hopeful of the outcome. But as is often the case, the judge is the wildcard and brings in their own biases and interpretations of the law and weighs each piece of admitted evidence accordingly, often trying not to upset the apple cart. It is disappointing but understandable that they try to find every reason to keep the status quo. So what did I like about Yale that wasn’t mentioned above? Honesty, integrity, directness, he invested in understanding my case, and was far more knowledgeable about my family dynamics then my previous attorney. Yale was unafraid to give me honest opinions to determine my path going forward. Yale built a good case and he presented it well, and that is the best I could hope for.

Yale Lewis is a wonderful human being. He's a rare man. His knowledge of tribal law is impressive. He's an awesome litigator. His phenomenal ability to foresee what's possible in your case and his ability to navigate that as best as possible is a gift. He's never going to let you down. Never. He's a one of a kind lawyer. He's extremely intelligent. His staff is a wonderful extension of him. I am a client of his as a grand parent in a Civil custody trial. I believe he is a wonderful lawyer to help you protect your kids. I love the relationship we've developed. I highly recommend this law firm. He's a tiger in a suit.

Yale did a great job with my son's relocation case. There were many twists and turns throughout the case, but Yale always prepared us for the next step and got the job done. He's very receptive and open to discussion and alternatives, and ultimately recommends the best course of action. While I won't say everything went perfectly (I can't imagine it ever does), there is no question Yale got us to the finish line with the right outcome. I would certainly recommend him those with family law issues.
