I strongly recommend Moshier Law. The founder, Jen Moshier, has been a professional contact of mine for years. Yet when I needed help, she rose to the challenge. Jennifer is dedicated, very generous with her time and skills, knowledgeable about family law, probate and guardianships and how they all interact and she is approachable. I know that there are a lot of negative things that can be said about attorneys, and Jen defies it all. She quickly identified the issues and got to work helping me in real time. Jen brings 25 years of legal experience, and she is so adept at discerning character and timing. She has the highest ethical standards for herself and her team. Get Jen’s advice - she will get you through it.
A guardianship in Arizona is a high-stakes, emotionally charged process, and Jen Moshier has a rare ability to cut through the chaos and focus on what truly matters. She’s a beacon of clarity in Arizona guardianship and conservatorship law, and she advocates straight from the heart. What sets Jen apart is the depth of her understanding—not just of guardianship and conservatorship, but also of how family law, divorce, and DCS matters intertwine. She sees the nuances, helps you strategize, and always approaches your situation with a spirit of service. Her business card even says "How we serve," and she lives up to that promise every day. Jen is also one of the kindest people I know. She handles emotional situations with steadiness and compassion, yet she’s honest and direct when you need it most. You can trust that her feedback comes from a deeply held belief in helping families find a path forward. Guardianship can feel terrifying. You want safety, stability, and coordination for the people you love. Jen guided us through a process that would have felt insurmountable without her. Not many attorneys step into your life at your hardest moment and carry some of that burden with you—but she does. Jen is the attorney you want in your corner, fully committed to the best outcome for everyone involved. I’ve heard her say, "You won’t believe how different your life will be in a year," and she was right. If she believes in your case, and you follow her guidance, you will be grateful on the other side.
I typically don’t write reviews, but because this experience has to do with my children and my freedom, it is important that others have a clear understanding before making decisions for their loved ones. This review is for anyone considering this firm to fight on your behalf against DCS. At first, I came to this firm through a trusted attorney referral, and things began positively. However, the situation quickly changed when I authorized payment for a crucial professional consultant, and the firm withheld those funds. They decided internally, without informing me, not to pay. In addition, despite multiple requests, I never received a detailed, itemized statement explaining large, sudden charges or linking payments to actual case progress. During my case, I saw no real progress from the firm. Most progress came from my own efforts and those of my family. A significant portion of the firm’s billable hours were spent attempting to convince me to accept a legal position that I did not agree with. Communication about strategy and expenses was often delayed or ignored. When I asked legitimate questions or expressed legal strategy, I was met with personal judgment rather than objective legal advice. When disagreements arose, instead of collaboration, the firm increased payment demands and rarely accomplished substantive work on my behalf. At one point, they planned to file motions without my authorization that could have negatively impacted my case. There was significant inconsistency between the advice of the two main attorneys, Trail Potter and Jen Moshier, especially regarding case funds—what one said would often contradict the other. At a crucial point in the case, a family member wanted to help and regularly spoke to Trail while prepping for the next move. Once it was decided Jen might represent my family member, it became a nightmare. Excessive funds were requested before she would even answer simple questions or pick up the phone. Keep in mind, I had already spent thousands with the firm. In the end, the family member secured excellent representation elsewhere, and I intend to do the same. Ultimately, I had to take on much of the research and strategic thinking myself, even while paying for legal representation. It makes no sense to pay for a lawyer and still end up doing the work on your own. If you are considering hiring this firm, I recommend you continue your research elsewhere and save yourself the headache. Unfortunately, it was not until late in our business relationship, when I raised the possibility of filing ethics complaints with the Arizona State Bar, a malpractice claim, and a motion to compel payment for my professional consultant, that one proper motion was filed. I am still moving forward with those next steps. When you’re fighting for your children, in every way, the last thing you need is internal conflict with your attorney—any parent could understand that. Before hiring this firm, I did not take other negative reviews seriously. I am writing this now so you do.
I originally found Moshier Law while randomly searching on Google. I’m not sure how I missed them before, since I had been making phone calls the week prior, but thankfully I connected with a wonderful receptionist named Myra. She made me feel so comfortable from the very beginning. Myra took the time to share the background of the attorneys and the firm itself. What really stood out to me was when she spoke about her many years of experience in the field and how she had never met attorneys as ethically sound and genuinely caring as those at Moshier Law. She spoke so highly of them and said all the right things, which I truly appreciated. During our call, we were disconnected at one point, but Myra didn’t forget about me — she followed up with an email, which made me feel even more heard and valued. When I scheduled my free consultation, Myra advised me to be prepared with questions since the consultation was limited in time. That consultation exceeded my expectations. Everything Myra had said about the attorneys was absolutely true — they may be a small firm, but they are incredibly powerful and effective. Attorney Jen Moshier was so kind, professional, and ethical. She genuinely cared, which was such a relief after speaking with several other attorneys (at least five consultations) who had left me feeling discouraged and like just another case number. Jen made me feel truly seen and heard. These are the types of lawyers that matter — the ones who make a real difference and use their knowledge to help people like me, who may not fully understand the legal system. What impressed me even more was that Jen went out of her way to refer me to others who might be able to assist me further, without any pressure or expectation of payment. I had previously spoken to a lawyer who also didn't take my money, but unlike Jen, he didn’t take the extra time or care to guide me toward helpful resources. Overall, it was a great experience, and if I ever need legal assistance again, I will definitely return to Moshier Law. I would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with family law matters.
I can’t say enough about this firm. I thought I’d try to tackle this case by myself and found out that I was way in over my head!! I had to retain Jennifer last minute on a holiday weekend and she was literally a life saver. She assured me she was ready to go and worked diligently on my case with only two days before the hearing. Jennifer is sharp, compassionate and a serious negotiating ninja. Jennifer brought Trail in, and he dove right in, demonstrating his knowledge, methodical approach, and determination like a pit bull, ready to go into court to fight for my case. They are a true dream team. On the day of my hearing, I was anxiously waiting in the court parking lot when Jennifer called to inform me that we had reached an agreement. This news brought me such relief. During our conversation, I mentioned that I wasn’t the only one in my car going over my arguments, and she responded, "Oh, I know. They are about to go in there, and it could change their lives. Lives are literally changed in there." Her words really struck me and highlighted her deep understanding of the significance of their work. It was evident that she possesses a genuine empathy for the people they help, recognizing how meaningful these cases are. Without Jennifer and Trail’s support, the outcome would not only have impacted my life but also the lives of my loved ones. I am truly forever grateful for their assistance. If anyone finds Trails fountain pen from 1994. It’s very sentimental and means a lot to him. He lost it about a year ago probably in a courthouse. Please never throw one you find away. It may be his. These are good people. Thank you
After submitting my engagement letter and retainer fee , I was ignored for several days by Ms Moshier. After calling the office to see what was going on, I was told it would be a few more days until Ms Moshier could fit me in to her schedule for our first meeting. By the time we had our first meeting, there was only 3 business day left until my hearing! When I arrived to the meeting, Ms Moshier was speaking loudly on the phone with sounded like another client. After hanging up, she came to "greet" me, rather than actually greeting me she immediately started telling me how she was not going to be able to represent me. She made it very clear that I was not important to her and that she had more important clients. I was then handed me off to another attorney, Mr Trail Potter. After everything, I'm extremely glad Mr Potter represented me instead of Ms Moshier. My outcome was very good with Mr Potter. I am certain there is no chance the outcome would have been as good without Mr Potter handling the case. Mr Potter was very helpful, very calming, very thorough and meticulous. He was able to negotiate a settlement in my favor. If all my interactions were with Mr Potter, I would be giving this review 6 stars. however, with Ms Moshier, whose name is on the shingle, my experience was very poor. To top it off, Ms Moshier sent me my final bill, I was charged more than expected given that MR Potter's BILABLE rate was less than Ms Moshier and the case was settled before we even had our hearing. Mr Potter had even told me that I would be getting a refund! Once Ms Moshier got involved for the final billing, rather than a refund, I was actually billed slightly more than my initial retainer. I expressed my surprise, but rather than listen, she went on to tell me she would look at it in a few days because she was too busy for it! More of the same from her!
I can't imagine having a better divorce attorney than Jennifer. I went through a collaborative divorce and with a lot assets involved and custody concerns. Jen was a very strong attorney, who knew the law very well, and stood her ground. She has continued to help with with issues post divorce too. The thing I like most is that she is strong, stands her ground but also operates with integrity and she really truly cares and you and the emotional toll a divorce can take. If you're looking for a family law and divorce attorney in Arizona who will stand up for you and actually cares, then Jen is the person for you.
