Northwest Consumer Law Center and Northwest Justice Project have to be the best legal resources for low income people in WA hands down! Five Stars! Amanda was a great pleasure to work with and she has followed up with myself and my brother several times in regards to our case dealing with a notorious slumlord and creditor who got involved with us in an ongoing harassment scam. The outcome was us wining this case and having false charges removed from our credit report, what a good feeling victory! please do not feel intimidated if you are needing legal advice, this is the place to go and you will not regret it, I even referred a friend.

I called Northwest Consumer Law Center in October 2024. I left several voicemails requesting for assistance with a case that has been ongoing since May 2024. I explained to them that I have tried all avenues, I went to the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, and Insurance commissioner office. I called over 20 attorneys in this area and none of them were able to assist. I also contacted the Northwest Justice project and they were unable to assist. I explained I am in a desperate situation. This case has been ongoing and is time sensitive. It is medical debt issue. They stated in an irritable tone they are not taking any clients and to try back in November. I called again in November and they stated they are still not taking any clients. Their tone and the way they responded showed no compassion or empathy for what I am going through and my situation. I tried to reach out to the attorneys that work there to speak with them over the phone, they did not respond, but one of them sent a passive aggressive email stating she cannot help me at all, I requested to speak to her on the phone a few times to get advice or clarification but she would not do that. It feels so impersonal and as if she could care less. She did not provide any resources or give advice. They didn’t even want to hear about the nature of the case and if they can help. They do not have any compassion and you can never speak with an attorney on the phone. They ignored my voicemail requests to speak with them. The attorney stated in the email, although it states we will reopen in November, that is an estimate. It clearly shows on their website, they are planning and expect to reopen their caseload in November so this is not clear to consumers. See photo below. This comes across to me that they are specifically turning me away while agreeing to help certain people. This is false advertisement to consumers and a form of discrimination. I am not happy that I can’t receive help with my situation. I am forced to suffer and deal with this alone. I shared my circumstances and they said oh well that’s not our problem, there is no compassion at all. I spoke with Madeline on the phone, she had no empathy and didn’t care. I stated there should be a greater effort in having more people on the team so a higher number of consumers can be helped. She stated if only money grew on trees in a sarcastic tone. She then advised me to write to the senator about this issue if I am so concerned, it felt very dismissive. I stated, you are working for a public entity that has a moral and ethical responsibility to help consumers, that should be your job to ensure more people are getting the help they deserve. You and the attorneys should be writing to the larger entities, if you truly care about helping the public. The attorneys won’t even respond or answer calls or give any advice. These people do not care about the public and their suffering. I feel mistreated and dismissed. They have a moral duty to help the public but they are refusing to do that. This is wrong.

As someone with low income and disabled, this was a godsend. I was hopeless and lost. I thought that those that scammed me would get away with it, but thanks to NWCLC I was freed from that burden, and fear. Too many people are willing to take advantage of those who are lost in the system due to its systemic nature and believe do to this that we are an unprotected class. In many ways that is very true, but NWCLC did what they could for me in said system, and helped where they could. I am very grateful to their hard work, to my attorney who virtually held my hand throughout the process. They simplified it, and made it easy for me to understand, and took me through the process one step at a time. I felt very taken care of. I got my payout in the end. It was a bittersweet ending for my ordeal, but I got closure, and my credit was protected.

NWCLC handled my case with great importance, care and integrity! I felt informed, protected and understood what was happening every step of the way. Since my first meeting with Alyssa, I was assured that my case would be handled to best of their ability. I am so grateful for this organization! I know my case outcome was truly a miracle! Couldn’t help me with my case (they had referrals for someone who could) . They are there to help those who need it (low income, etc) What a neat group of people. I didn’t qualify for their service but they help people in need, not needy people. Thanks NCLC.

Northwest Consumer Law Center resolved a very expensive old debt. Debt collector asked me to pay an old debt when in reality the statute of limitations had ran out. Thank You Amanda, I appreciate your immense knowledge regarding this matter.
