I've decided to close the book on this experience. I was referred to Gary by a friend. My accident was 3/8/23, I hired Gary 8/9/23 & signed settlement paperwork 7/24/25. A con for me is that I never met face to face with an attorney during that time except when I signed the settlement paperwork. Everything is done through letter, email or in the case of deposition prep a call. I believe these practices may have come from the 2020 COVID shutdown. I never understood that this would be the path. When I had questions I would first try to ride things out until the next communication as l am aware this process is a slow one but would eventually email in which I received a short, direct but prompt response from Gary. I requested to give my deposition at the law offices instead of at home. I did so in a room all by myself with the depo attorney on zoom. It's an enormously overwhelming experience to go through alone. Again, I didn't expect that. As far as Gary goes- I found him to be quite professional but only spoke to him via phone the day I hired him. I never met him. He was timely in responding to my emails. The deposition attorney was professional and thorough. I think the streamline no fuss no muss practice of not going in to the office to speak live might work for some. But I also feel that while I understood a bit of how this works (I had a previous case I very stressfully yet successfully handled myself) I still felt out of the loop at times & there isn't anything quite like looking someone in the eye in regard to the life of your case, what to expect, strategy, etc. It's an extremely grueling process. Finally, I need to mention how my case ended which is really why I am taking the time to write this review. I was contacted by Romina an attorney from Gary's office very late in the day to let me know there was a settlement offer. She very quickly went over my options while I tried to scribble down everything she was saying. I was overwhelmed and eventually cried. She then offered that I could come to the office & meet with her. I did my research & prepared for that meeting with questions & concerns. I was interested in Compromise and Release which was explained by Romina on the phone but not in paperwork to be signed. I recited back my understanding of my options. It appeared I wasn't offered the C&R because I had worked a few days very recently per diem & the insurance considered me "employed" by them. I explained that I was simply helping them out and could easily stop doing so. Romina advised & recommended as it would get the ball rolling that I signed Stip with Request for Award & that she would speak with the other side in regard to my desire. The other side agreed & paperwork was sent to me for C& R. However, after reading over and researching I had many concerns & questions. I sent Romina an email outlining all my concerns, etc. She responded back 11/3/25 stating she would have her office set an appointment . Well, here we are this day and I never heard back from Romina's office. My concerns & questions were extensive. I've been paid & am being paid, the attorney has been paid, case settled but not the way I requested. That matters. My recommendation would be to anyone is to make sure you are seen. Face to face...so you are a person, not just a case. This stuff is important and complicated. You are entitled to your attorney's attention. You are entitled to feel seen. Do not sign anything leaving anything hanging. That was totally my bad. I trusted instead of going with my gut. I'm good at standing up for myself and encouraging others to do so but from accident until signing this took 21/2 years of my life. I feel like I've quit because I didn't get what I requested which is TOTALLY against my personal practice but | just don't feel like I would get the outcome I originally requested without added stress. Who needs that in retirement?! Laying this to rest.

Dear Mr. Gary Nelson, I had a phone interview scheduled with you but you nor your staff contacted me to reschedule the meeting, I felt that was very unprofessional on your part seeing that I am a referral from a major law firm and a potential client. Honestly and transparency are a key factor in a professional business relationship. Please review some of your negative reviews and make all necessary changes for the future if you want to continue to represent clients. You regret" MY FAILURE" to contact is your response to my complaint? As an attorney why didn’t you contact me like you agreed to do via your staff? I already rescheduled as a courtesy from Friday to Monday. Monday at 11am was our consultation. I called the office and reminded your staff of our 11 am consultation you were not in the office and you NEVER called! What professional lawyer does that to a potential new client? It’s ok glad it worked out the way it did! One of your reviews stipulated how you like to blame others.

Mr Nelson, his colleagues and staff were extremely supportive, professional and absolutely mindful of my situation and needs. They fought hard for me over the past year and an half and got me the best resolution possible to my claim. Thank you for taking and answering my every question and responding to my every email. I thank God for you and will definitely recommend anyone to your firm in need of a Worker’s Compensation Attorney assuring them that they will be in the best hands. If you need a Worker’s Compensation Lawyer, you must call them. Linette
