We live out of state, and back home our DMV doesn’t waste any time handing out license points and suspensions, when we ended up with tickets in Syracuse while visiting family, we thought this was going to be a $5k mistake. In comes Joe to ease our minds. He was patient, kind, and took the time to explain everything in plain English, like he’d known us for years. I had William appointed to my case and I want to emphasize that he was extremely negligent with my case and that I got charged significantly for my first ever offense due to his complete lack of care and concern. He showed up to my first hearing completely unprepared and did not have the correct materials and almost got us penalized by the judge for it. He also barely took any time to speak with me, and seemed incredibly stressed, overwhelmed, and busy. The retainer fee was $5,000!! You would think for a fee that high and for your first ever minor offense that your lawyer would actually be able to make a difference in your case or possibly even reduce your charges… I understand that the outcome of a case is entirely dependent on your specific situation and circumstances, but he showed up multiple times very unprepared. I have heard stories from other individuals in similar recent situations who had significantly worse scenarios and who also did not have DUI specific lawyers appointed to their cases who had better results and outcomes than I did for less money. I sincerely feel as though I was blatantly ripped off by DUI Tom for the conclusion that came to be for me specifically. I wish that I could get some of my money back, as I was significantly impacted in several ways by my lawyer’s lack of due diligence. He wasn’t even able to successfully ask the judge for a conditional license for me!! I would never recommend this law firm to anyone, as I felt significantly neglected and overlooked and due to this I will be severely impacted for the rest of my life.

This took me a long time to write as the middle of November 2024 holds one of the worst days of my life, the day I made my worst mistake. I got into an accident, thankfully no one else was injured in the accident except myself. After my accident I knew I needed to seek professional legal council. I contacted the office of DWI Tom Anelli, and I had an intake appointment, and shortly after was connected with Lawyer Jason Barringer. From the very first time I spoke with Jason, and explained exactly what had happened that day in November, and what led up to it he listened attentively, answered all my questions promptly, and never lied about the possible outcome of my case. I explained to Jason the first time I spoke with him that I am a registered nurse, and I worked so hard to become one, and highly value my career helping others so I was very worried about repercussions to my nursing license depending on conviction. I had multiple court dates, 5 or 6 to be exact, and Jason took the time to speak with the DA and try to get me the best outcome possible. At first, it appeared there was only a sliver of hope to get the charges reduced. That didn’t stop Jason, he kept in contact with the DAs office and even Assistant DA to try to get another meeting to discuss my case. In the end Jason got another meeting, another chance to represent me. His dedication, persistence, compassion, and knowledge as a Lawyer, and human being gave me the best gift I could have hoped for, a drastic reduction in my charges. Based on the final conviction, it was not something that would impact my nursing license at all thankfully. Jason provided guidance, and a calmness I needed in such a chaotic time in my life. I truly can’t thank Jason enough for what he did for my life, how he fought for me, and was my voice in rooms I could not enter to explain who I truly am, and what I care deeply about. I HIGHLY recommend DWI Tom Anelli’s office and especially Lawyer Jason Barringer! Everyone on the staff from the lawyers to the office personnel were nothing but kind, punctual, helpful, and friendly. Our experience with Tom Anelli & Associates was absolutely outstanding. While visiting New York we were stopped by a state trooper and received a citation for speeding (101 in a 65, which we were not doing) and a seatbelt violation involving a six year old child, who was properly buckled but not in a car seat as we were in a rental car.
