I called the Newark Immigration Court today 09/26/2024 around 12:15 PM today to help a friend who needed translation assistance. The court employee who answered was very disrespectful and unhelpful. When I asked a question on my friend’s behalf, she responded rudely, refused to clarify, and ignored me, since she speaks Spanish, she started directing her answers only to my friend, who was confused and needed help understanding. He ended up asking her the same question 3 times and She eventually transferred the call, which was then disconnected. This kind of service is unacceptable, especially when people are seeking important information. I hope the court addresses this issue to ensure respectful and clear communication from its staff, particularly for those who are the most vulnerable in this process:
