**UPDATE** Received an email last week about firm needing a response from me about my case. The case that I contacted them about in JUNE!! We are halfway through September & they Carlos never called me back after our 45min consultation. Numerous calls & emails weren't returned. Now I'm told they're waiting to hear from me. I called, spoke to Marvelo, he says he'll call me back later in the day with an update after speaking with my lawyer. I waited 3 days, no call, so I just called, & was told my case is no longer open with the firm. Please do not expect professionalism or people that know how to communicate effectively when you work this company. And the owner is even worse. Instead of understanding the issue he is rude & makes excuses for his employees. I see why there's so many negative reviews.

Started the process with this law firm in May, recieved a consultation and then a letter with my case in a summary. I was also told Jessa had to get approval from the senior partners. Recieved a few phone calls asking for the same information I had already given. Sent follow up emails for weeks, with little to no response. I sent all of my supporting documents and now they have access to my information without any commitment or communication. Sent a follow up email 2 days ago and it says Jessa is no longer with the comany....shocker. Now I call in and Gerome tells me my case has been assigned to Jessica yesterday but she isn't available so I leave her a voicemail. She just returned my call and asked if I had any other information for my case I said no everything was sent and she put me on hold came back and said they cant take my case. I asked for the partner who made the decision to call me back and she put me on hold again and came back and offered to give me the ohio bar association phone number, I live in north carolina. They wasted 2 months of my right to sue letter from the eeoc and they dont care. Do not give them your business look elsewhere.

Update, owner replies being sarcastic asking if I wanted fast food law or thoroughly researched feedback. No need for the rudeness. 1st of all, what part of my review was unclear about Carols telling me he we DEFINITELY reach back out to me by the end of the day?? 2nd, my consultation was last week Thursday, yesterday was Thursday. That is 7 days, not 4. Not to mention I've sent NUMEROUS emails to more than 1 person which ALL went ignored. A simple, "we're still working on it" would've been appreciated. And 3rd, I received NO voice-mail from this firm yesterday. Just viewed my entire call log & I did not receive a single call from this firm. Do I need to attach another screenshot as proof? Please do not make up a lie because I have told none about my experience. The point of my initial review was to note the unprofessionalism of being ignored for a FULL week, after being told I would DEFINITELY hear back by the end of the day. It takes a few seconds to send an email. Now the owner replies in a rude manner talking about fast food. You desperately need to work on your people skills & inform your staff to be more direct & attentive with all potential clients. I have no missed calls, emails or voice-mail from anyone since last Thursday. Instead of attacking people on their reviews, maybe listen and try to have your employees perform better.

I presented a Harassment and Job Discrimination Case to this Spitz Firm who took on my case to represent me going forward back on November 22 , 2024. Attourney Evan Gungor was assigned to my case , the most pathetic and poor excuse of an Attourney I have ever been represented by. Evan was assigned to my Discrimination case around the first of April where the 1st thing he told me was to trust him and just let him do his job !!!! Well I tried trusting him in the beginning by sharing some personal things with him like how some of the Employees of my former Employer Sonoco Harassed and Discriminated against me for months ultimately leading to me filing a Harassment and Job Discrimination Complaint against my Safety Coordinator Crystal Smith amongst other employees on October 12 2024 with Sonoco Human Resources who Wrongfully Suspended me on 11/14/24 and terminated me in Retaliation on 11/19/2024 solely based on a false report intentionally and knowingly made by Safety Coordinator Crystal Smith and others including my own Plant Manager Quinton Ladd who all knowingly collaborated as one to falsely accuse me of numerous acts of Misconduct in June of this year 2025 after just reporting to the State of North Carolina Unemployment in December 2024 that as a result of the State Unemployment of North Carolinas Investigation was that my Discharge and Termination by Sonoco was not for Misconduct at all . I expressed to my deceiving Attourney Evan Gungor Esquire that since my wrongful discharge on 11/14/24 that Sonoco has caused my family and I serious Mental Anguish and Pain and Suffering to the point that I had to start seeing a Therapist for Mental Anxiety because I was Terminated right before Thanksgiving , Christmas, New Year Day and all Major Family Holidays to follow. Well 7 months later what does my poor excuse of an Attourney Evan Gungor Esquire make sure he does to me?? He makes sure he Emails me on exacrly the day before Thanksgiving to tell me that he will no longer be Representing me with my Discrimination case against Sonoco my former employer and neither will any other Attourney from the Spitz Firm hiding behind Emails because he wasn't Man or Professional enough to schedule an in person conference with me his client at the time to share the disappointing news again the day before Thanksgiving. I reached out to the EEOC on 11/13/2025 after they reopened from the Government Shutdown that started on October 1 2025 through 11/13/2025 and she was sure to tell me that my Attourney Evan Gungor Esq. Never submitted any of my overwhelming evidence I provided him with in my defense throughout the duration of my case including my Rebuttal in response to Sonocos Position Statement I immediately submitted on June 24 2025 to my Attourney Evan Gungor nor did he ever answer Investigator Rebekkah Lopez of the EEOCS emails requesting that Evan Gungor get in contact with her to discuss pre determination steps going forward for Litigation Purposes in the Court Room. If you get this Attourney Evan Gungor immediately contact management and have him replaced before he railroads and drags you along too. I recall Evan telling me that he was worried about these same employees who sabotaged my employment with Sonoco and that he was concerned about them losing their jobs if we took them to court because he obviously and clearly never was worried how mine was taken because I exercised my protective rights and filed a Harassment andJob Discrimination Complaint against certain Sonoco employees who collaborated a Complete false report that they made to Sonoco HR to get me Wrongfully Terminated.

I would give Spitz Law, The Employee's Law Firm, a minus 10 or more if I could. I was referred by them from another firm. I saw where they had a bad review on the BBB and a few other places, but it was hard to find reviews on them. Apparently, it is similar to a franchise. I called a few times, but the only information I could get was you need to fill out our forms before we talk to you. I tried to find out if they could handle my case first before I ended up wasting over 6 hours of my time filling out their forms which we the same questions answered over and over, for a current employee, etc. It was ridiculous. They wanted me to download all of my information which would have been over a 1k pages. Again, ridiculous. The attorney was over 15 minutes late calling me. When I told him what my problems were, he said we don't handle that aspect, retiree or benefits. I said that is strange because you are advertise as "employee's law firm". He said I needed a civil attorney. I told him I was told I needed an employment and/or ERISA attorney. So again, I wasted my time and all he good say was sorry, I can't help you or refer you to anyone. He said I would advise you not to waste your time. The attorney I spoke with was Carlos Jeffs. Update to response. I had the time correct. I was looking at my phone at the time of the call. I had called several times to ask if they could handle my case and all I got from the receptionist was you have to fill out the forms or we will not respond. I looked on their website and it stated they handled cases like mine. Carlos Jeffs said I should have been told they did not handle my case. He was incorrect in his response on everything he replied. If he had checked the reviews, he would have seen they have bad reviews and even a bad review on the BBB site. Again, I would never advise anyone to this practice.

I usually don’t leave bad reviews I try my best to be honest , but time was of the essence with my case . This specific law firm decided to take up my case because I had very substantial evidence that pertained to why I believe I had a case and they decided " yes sir you do have a case" If only I would’ve known that the they would switch my laywer and case manager around then I probably just would have payed for a laywer out of Charlotte NC, i had my proof - I had pictures and videos evidence that made whatever my employer said was terribly FALSE. Soon as we got the eeoc involved and they said we had a dead line to respond - and my lawyer never responded to me til after the fact so later on down the line employer presented false evidence- and never was I told one time by the laywer " is this true ? " " what do you want to do from this point?" During the phone call with EEOC it was 3 of us on the phone but I had to defend myself Verbally while he ( the lawyer) sat quiet as a mouse - ATP I knew It was me VS employer VS the EEOC even with all the proof and stuff in his computer and paper work - this law firm decided to side with the employer and wanted to no longer support me in my case which is a Terrible take! I encourage you that even if you have videos pictures, and crucial information and evidence to get you a great laywer ! That will fight with you & that will NOT side with the employer and just give up because of money & false evidence appearing Real.
